Catit Cat Litter Large Pan, Gray, 58702

Perfection! I looked and have not been able to find a large litter box anywhere and was making do with a smaller one. My two cats are both older (male and female, both fixed). They always liked to stick one leg up on the side of the pan but lately they've been missing the box every time which is so not acceptable. I was changing and laundering the cat box mat every day practically and having to clean the sides and bottom and under the rim which is just way beyond what I want to do. I ordered this pan based on the size and another reviewer who said that the cat wouldn't be able to get a leg up on the side which is true. The cats took to this box right away. It's very roomy. My male cat is big at over 10 pounds and he kind of filled up the previous box when he got inside. He has plenty of room in this box. The front is low enough for the cats to get in and out easily but the pan itself is deep. There really isn't any way for them to get their leg up on the side of the box. They have not had a single accident since I put it down and there is very little cat litter getting tracked outside the box. I use Target Up&Up scoopable cat litter which comes in a 20-pound jug. It easily holds the entire 20-pound jug of litter. On the plus side, even though it's big, it's not so enormous that it doesn't fit in the same place as the last one. It's just roomier all the way around. I like that it sort of contains the whole affair without a lid. My cats never took to having a cover over them. The box is also really easy to clean and nothing seems to stick to it so far. It's hard to tell from the picture but the low place where the cats go into the box is sort of a tabbed lip and when you're scooping the box, the bag tucks under the front lip pretty easily and stays open while you're scooping which is brilliant! I think the tab also discourages them from trying to put their leg up on that area although even that is really too high from them to accomplish it. It's a little hard to tell also from the picture but the back of the box is much higher than the front and the sides taper up. I imagine the cats feel like they're in an enclosure and it also prevents them from making a mess out the back side of the box. The color is neutral and looks pretty close to the picture. I will definitely will keep using this box.

My Cat's old box had to be replaced due to a hole in the bottom of the box. I ran to our nearest pet store and I could not find the same exact box I had owned. So, I tried to find the best box possible. As it turned out over the course of over a month or so.My cat managed to pee all over the end of the box which resulted in pee soaking through under his mat. Not to mention, that like all cats, my cat loves to shar his litter all over the place, in the efforts of making a perfect spot to do #2.Well with his current box the litter wound up all over the floor every time he did that. So every week, not only did I empty his box out, but I had to scrub the floor under his mat. And vacuum up all the litter. Plus sanitize his mat & the floor around it.It made changing his box out every week, more of a chore then what it should be.And of course I do clean out his box on a daily basis, as any other responsible cat lover ought to. But, I also change out the whole litter box on a weekly basis as well. Anyway, I got fed up with all of this extra work. I never had this problem with his old box. So I searched and searched on line & read many reviews.Then I ordered this Catit Cat Litter Pan.This product had many positive reviews and now I know why. It works!!!And I am so happy I own this now. Not only does his litter STAY in the box. But his butt stays in the box too. And now his pee stays there, so no more wiping up the floor. My cat is only 11 pounds. I suppose that maybe big for some people. But I guess his fat butt was too big for the old/new box. But in any event. I am one happy camper.This box is nice & roomy and is perfect for my needs.I don't care about the color change. It looks grey here but it comes to you in taupe. So be warned about that if your into more of the color you won't get gray, lol.. But, I was looking for function, not color. And this by far is the BEST litter box ever. No more excess mess! to clean up. Thank YOU Catit people. Your the best!

We've recently downsized to a small apartment where the litter box shares our small bathroom. There's zero extra space for maneuvering so our terrific covered litter box just wasn't cutting it anymore*.My dread was having litter kicked all over the bathroom floor which I'd then track through the apartment. This Catit litter pan has a cool rim snap-on which sticks out into the box space a little bit - that rim makes a huge difference. It's been a week and I haven't seen any increase in litter on the floor around the box.The only 'negative' change we've experienced is him doing his business mostly against the sides and I don't think that's the fault of the box. My cat is on the small side (7.5 lb) and the box is a bit smaller than he's used to, but it's still plenty bigger than him so I don't see why he has to stick his butt up against the side like that. Seriously, guy, why are you sitting sideways? Whatever .... thankfully, the bottom and sides of the pan are smooth so running the pooper scooper along still gets everything up easily.Also I should mention, the design is clever with the way one end is lower than the other so the cat is inclined to use that end for exit rather than just jumping out on any of the other three sides. As we all know, it's a lot easier to keep the litter box area clean if you can control entry/exit.I give this item FIVE STARS for satisfying all my requirements and at an excellent price of under $15.*My cat has been used to using a large covered litter box with a lid that snapped on so tightly that you could pick up the litter-filled box and carry it from room to room. I've really liked using that box. However, to clean the covered box you unsnap it on one side and lean the top over to the other side to get it off ... so you need at least twice the floor space than what the box actually sits on. This was fine when we were in a large living space but no longer works for us.
