Skar Audio 14 Gauge (AWG) Elite Oxygen-Free Copper Audio Speaker Wire - 30 Feet (Blue/White)

Running between a yamaha s801 and some restored/upgraded acoustic research series 660 monitors. I wouldnt call it a night and day difference over the now quite old replaced wire, nor am i even sure what kind of wire the old stuff was, probably just copper clad, but the sound does seem cleaner, which has always been my experience in the past using OFC. Excellent price. And to anyone curious the leads are tinned on some sets, not on the others, and the rest is very much quality OFC. Quality purified OF copper has a much cleaner metallic appearance then your usual copper. At least the ofc wire ive purchased in the past always had a more metallic, less amber sheen to it. You have to get it in the right light to see the copper color, and this is actually, in my experience, a sign your working with very high quality, very pure copper, and this stuff, however cheap, seems to look and behave exactly as any other, albeit far more expensive, wire that i have used in the past.Nice packaging as wellWould absolutely buy again

Each of the very many strands of wire that make up the cable has a uniform metal coating that protects against corrosion and helps ensure a good connection. I examined the strands and was happy to see the wire was indeed copper and NOT just aluminum with a microscopically thin layer of copper (CCA), pretending to be real copper cable. The individual strands were smooth with no sign of micro scratches that could cause the wire to crack and break over time. I was concerned a 14AWG cable would be too small and degrade the signal. Using Oxygen Free Copper helps remedy this issue.The insulation was uniform, with the wire centered nicely inside it. Unlike some other brands of cable out there, the Skar Audio 14 Gauge (AWG) Elite Oxygen-Free Copper Audio Speaker Wire doesn't have any weird or unpleasant odors. It does have a faint scent of plastic, which is normal. Very pleased I didn't get stunk out of my home theater as has happened to other customers!The cable came on a nice spool, no sharp edges, which I've repurposed to neatly store some other cables. Bonus! This was a surprisingly well made product. The quality of this cable really put a smile on my face! I'd definitely buy it again.

This stuff is so easy to work with no more stiff wires that have potential to break the soldering connection and it lays down smoothly under my roll bar fabric. Love it and the color I wanted.

Ordered the 30ft 14 gauge did my front doors and wired wired my pioneer head unit with this too 100% worth every penny buy it also had some wired to my skar sub for over 3 years ago this wire is A1

I know Skar Audio has a reputation for making cheat products, but these wires are fantastic. They feel premium. They are copper and tined. Because of this, they are an excellent choice for marine applications.

Except quality for the price and true to the size. Will use again. Also great flexibility

Ive been soldering as an electronics tech for 48 yrs. There is NO aluminum in this superb wire.As you can see from the pics this wire readily accepted 60/40 rosin core solder. Aluminum wire DOES NOT. I tinned this wire and soldered it to tinned component speaker wire. I recommend this wire as the pre tinning will do as Skar says.I hope this clears up the mis informed negative reviews.
