I have now purchased a second one of these mats, because I liked the first one so much, so I figured I’d go ahead and review it, for others who r searching for a good buy! I have only used these mats with the optional thermometer setup, so I cannot speak to how well they work alone. But with the optional thermostat/thermometer, these mats are perfect!You simply plug the mat into the thermostat, plug that into the wall, then set what temperature you want the mat to warm the soil to, and the heat mat will turn on and off in order to keep the soil at your selected temperature. What more could u want?I’ve noticed that these mats provide heat pretty much right up to their edges, not just in the center areas, which is great! I generally keep 3/4ths of the mat covered with a plastic storage bin (that I use to create a small greenhouse), but for taller plants, or starting seeds that don’t need quite as much heat, the uncovered mat area also works great!If u want a good heat mat, to start seeds with, or to cure vegetables, etc., this is a great mat that I definitely recommend! I’ve purchased a second one now, 9 months after purchasing the first, and both work great! The thermostat/thermometer system is excellent and very accurate! During the day when the sun is strong, I’ve seen it register temperatures over 95*! Yet when cloudy or at night, it keeps its set temperature perfectly, and both of my mats are showing the same temperatures, within .01* of eachother!Also, if u buy the thermostat/thermometer option, it can be used two ways at least! -It has a suction cup around the probe, so u can use it to check the air temperature inside your enclosure, OR u can remove the suction cup and stick the probe directly into the soil (see picture). I have one done each way, and they both work perfectly!Just buy it! I’ve had zero problems and it comes with a warranty!

I got this heat mat with temperature control to place in my indoor greenhouse to keep my new vanilla plant warm and it's doing it's job! Very well made and so easy to use, great price and works great. Can monitor and adjust temperature with one touch of a button. The size of mat is perfect and has various uses such as keeping my ginger beer jar warm too. Have noticed new growth on my vanilla already - love it!

Works great it was kinda hard for me to understand what to do from the instructions but I looked up a video and that helped. Warms up great and my plants are so far loving it.

Amazing heat mat for a great price! I use it to keep my sourdough starter and ginger bug warm, since the optimal temperature for those is 75-80F and my house stays anywhere from 65F to 70F. It's really easy to set and change the desired temperature. It's also great that the heating mat will shut off after it reaches the desired temperature and will stay off until it drops 2-3 degrees below that. That provides excellent temperature control and ensures whatever it is you're heating won't get too hot.The first heating mat I got would not heat very well. It would be constantly trying to heat and not reach the desired temperature. I've contacted the seller with the problem and they sent me an entire new mat without needing to return the previous one! The shipping was quick and the new mat works awesome!

Works great.

I use this mat for fermenting and proofing sourdough bread in the winter. The thermostat keeps the temperature within a few degrees of the set point. It is a game changer for fermenting dough. You can set your container down on the mat with the temperature detector close by or use the suction cup to stick it on the side of the container. I drape some dish towels over them to keep the heat in and that works well enough.The thermostat allows the mat to heat to the set point and then will cut off. When the ambient temperature drops two degrees the heating mat kicks back in and works the temperature back up.

Get this one. It has the mat and the controller with heat probe. It’s been running day and night since I got it. I hope it makes it for a few years
