Things to know before the installation
Totally love the upgrade from our old ac unit to this one. Much quieter than the old one. Two things about this unit you should know. #1- we had our tv shop do the installation. What he told us after the fact was Recpro wants a certified installer putting in the unit. He informed us that if you install it yourself, you void the warranty. He found this out after he called the company to register it for us. #2- you do not need a replacement roof gasket for this unit, so don’t buy one.

Arrived early and works great!
I installed this unit on my 22 foot RV trailer. It heats and cools with no problem. I can't say enough how pleased I am with this unit and the company's responsiveness to my needs. The unit arrived early without the bottom (interior) controls and remote. I called the company to make sure these came with the unit. I got a human only 1 option in the phone tree. She was wonderful. The part arrived 2 days later. It was easy to install. I put a thermometer in the back bedroom and it was only 2 degrees different from the temp I set it at. Other units DO NOT send the interior controls. Beware. For no hassles and great service, go with this unit.

Awesome unit
I added this to my 6X12 cargo trailer which I use to bring motorcycles to and from the racetrack. My girlfriend and I sleep in it over the course of our often 3 day stays at the track. This unit is fantastic for the midwest. Keeps the trailer warm during the cool nights in the spring and fall, and also capable of keeping it seriously cool in the hot summer months. The unit is also surprisingly quiet! I was expecting it to make quite a bit of noise and vibration on the thin tin roof of the trailer but it's so quiet that I couldn't even tell when the compressor was cycling.I insulated the trailer with R-5 foam board on both the walls and the ceiling to help the trailer retain warm/cool air which should dramatically help efficiency, however with the power this thing has, that may be a bit unnecessary if you wanted to skip it and don't mind the higher electricity usage. If you're doing what I did, converting a cargo trailer into something to take short stays in, you'll obviously need to run AC power to the Air Conditioning unit. This was my first AC power project that I ever attempted and it wasn't bad at all. I ended up mounting a 30A shore power plug on the outside of the trailer and mounting half a dozen receptacles inside the trailer, as well as lights and on a light switch. Fun little project for a DIYer who isn't afraid to tear their trailer apart.

Much quieter than my other a/c
I purchased this a/c to replace and existing unit to reduce the interior fan noise. when I removed the old unit, I confirmed I had the correct size roof opening but my Jayco design routed alot of ceiling electrical around the opening. I tape wrapped all of the wiring and was able to move it out of the way but I had to modify the lower plastic grill mounting that went into the opening to get it flush with the ceiling. Once that was done, it fit well and the bolt holes aligned with the roof unit. Started the unit and wasn't sure it was going to be able to handle the humid air but in about 30 minutes it was awesome and I could see the condensate rolling off the roof.
