Cortas - Baba Ghanoush Eggplant Dip, 6.5 oz (Pack of 6)

I’ve ordered these a bunch of times. Some of the in store brands I’ve tried to buy have additives like dextrose. These are straightforward and a staple in my healthy eating!

I grew up in a home with Middle Eastern. Food was always cooked and available. So, I know what baba ghanouge is supposed to taste like. Before you serve it, spread it out in a small bowl kind of like a salad bowl, and sprinkle Italian or other oregano-based herb over the dish, and then liberally pour olive oil over it. please note, eating this product straight out of the can will not be satisfying. Follow my instructions, and you will love it.

One can of the six arrived with this on the outside of the can. I opened one and found the taste to be metallic and not too pleasant.I was not happy with my purchase.

I have been unhappy with every store-bought baba ghanoush option lately. I took a chance on this and it is exactly what I need as a base to create the baba ghanouj that I’ve been looking for. One finely chopped garlic clove, 1 t of lemon juice and 1 t of good olive oil is all it takes to turn one little can into a perfect baba. I’m absolutely thrilled!

I was at a Greek restaurant and had baba ghanoush and loved it. To be honest, I was too lazy to try and make it myself and so I purchased this. I do not like it as well as the one that I had in the restaurant, but I’m trying to decide if I still like it or not. I should have perhaps gone with the very tiny cans before going with the 6 ounce cans. It’s a bit stringy.

I like my baba ganoush with a little bit of smokey flavor. Not too overpowering, just a little bit. This hits the spot. And the smaller cans are good for one or two servings.

The taste was great, and the cans are just the right size for a snack for one person. However, everything I have bought from this company has arrived in plastic-lined cans, which are not good for our health or the environment, so I am done.
