HP LaserJet 107a Mono Printer - White

The 107a just arrived: I bought this model to replace a perfectly good P1100 which no longer works cause of drivers no longer being supprted (aka planned obsolesence designed to make me buy another one: shame about the unused toner cartridges I had for it that are not good for any available printers) and I didnt want something that required a smart phone so 'USB only' was a selling point. So I followed the pictographic instrucations and got it plugged in and ready to follow the final instruction which was 'set up using 123.hp.com.' So I did--but at this point they didnt tell me to connect it...anyway, the 123.setup couldnt find the printer once I did plug it into my computer. So I just tried to print and it worked just fine. No need to install anything, especially since the online programme couldnt find it! But to give hp support credit, before buying it I had used their online 'chat' service before purchase and the chap I spoke with was very helpful. So, 5 stars so far.

This replaced my old Samsung printer, and is identical, as far as I can make out. So far it has worked as well as my old one.

I am very happy with my purchase. It would help to have set up instructions. As it is a wired printer I assumed it was plug and go but you have to download drivers and there is no mention when you receive the printer of where to go to do this. As a wired printer I would also expect the usb connection wire to be included but you have to buy it separately.Once up and running I am happy with the print quality and the paper collector tray.

I have used HP printers for many years and this is no exception. Easy to set up, reliable and economic to use (well relatively)Thomas

The printer was not capable to configure my laptop. It took a long time with the return procedure. Sellar has not yet returned the postage charges as agreed although many months passed and the seller has not bothered to respond.

Bought to replace a 6 year old Samsung Xpress 2022W which had developed a fault. Surprise, the HP was identical in design with parts interchangeable with the Samsung. Same factory?Out of the box and within 10minutes it was printing perfectly, connected to my network via USB (cable not provided). The Win 10 computer had a driver in place and there was no need to download any software from HP. The only regret is, that unlike the Samsung, the HP does not print both sides of paper automatically. The other point to mention is that the Samsung was under £40 for a printer which had also WiFi as well as dual print.

Works effectively. Good for occassional use. Some issues with printing double-sided as it's a manual process but overall a satisfactory purchase.

This is not compatible with Mac, but it's not specified anywhere. I bought the printer and when I returned the unused item I only received 50% refund.
