Great book!
My older grandson had the whole set of these books, and the younger grandson borrowed this one for a book report at school and "destroyed" the thing, so Gramma had to quick order a new one to fit into the set. Came on time, and was just perfect; thanks for the assist!

Wonderful reading experience
I read this again as an adult during the Covid-19 pandemic when there were long days to fill in. It was absolutely wonderful and I'm so glad I was able to read these books as a youngster. I grew up loving the outdoors and scampering through mountains and bush and I still do thanks to Enid Blyton. I'm now 71. Parents do allow and encourage your children to experience these adventures too; they are also an education in how to look after yourselves in the outdoors and other useful lie skills.

Enid Blyton - queen of the children's adventure story
There is still nothing like Blyton's storytelling in the realm of children's literature. She completely captures the imagination of the reader until the last page. Her Adventure series were the first "chapter" (rather than "picture") books I ever read. That was when I was nine years old. I'm 65 now, and still infatuated.

Interesting for tween readers!
My nine year old Granddaughter wanted me to bring her a book from my travels to the English Countryside that English children read and enjoyed. I chose the author Enid Blyton after consulting with a salesperson in the Cathedral bookstore in Ely, UK. She loved it and we chose MANY more from Amazon by the same author. She has finished them all which says something for the interest level!

This one is for children, but I enjoyed it too.
Philip conspired to help his school friends when they had no home to go to and no one to love them, and launched them and his sister into an adventure involving old mines and crooks. Loved the parrot, and other pets. Great characters. I enjoyed the read, and can't wait to share it with my granddaughters.

Excellent story. Brings Backmemories when our teacher read this story to our grade school class some 70 years ago.
