Bought these to put surfboards on the car roof racks. They got great, easy to put on... after months in southern California have not noticed any fading. Looking back weven for our long board we didn't need them this wise. We were hoping to put boards side by side but that didn't work.. so we could have used the narrower version. Seem pricey for what they are. Foam with a cover that velcros.. but work well.

I was impressed with the quality of this. The velcro strips are wide and stay snug. The padding is thick. The covering is soft but tough.

To be honest I didn’t really buy these for their intended purpose but it’s nice to know I can carry my kayak on my car now. I bought them as an economical way to stop the whistling noise my roof rack was making while driving. They work perfectly for that purpose. They’re really easy to install and haven’t moved a bit while I’ve been driving. As an added bonus they look super cool on my Mini Cooper!

I did a lot of research, and these were the best pads I could find that were wide enough for a Stand Up Paddle (SUP) board. They fit my Chevrolet factory racks, which are of the aero style, very well. If the loop side of the velcro was a little wider it would be great since on my racks there is a slight overlap when I secure them tightly. The padding inside is very firm, which is what you want since you don't want a lot of play when you strap your board down. They arrived with 2 HUGE staples going through the velcro strap that stapled it to a very stiff piece of cardboard. I HATE that they put staples throught the velcro straps, but it probably doesn't matter in the long run. It's just a really lazy way for them to solve the problem of attaching them to the retail hanger. I was torn between these and the Thule. I saw the Thule on real life this weekend, and am glad I went with the Dakine. Dakine's website and descriptions are terribly lacking, but their products are really nice from what I have seen. If you are looking for a great surfboard or SUP board pad for your aero style racks, these are the best in my opinion. If you have square or round racks, get their standard version, not these. These are designed for Aero/Flat racks.

They fit my CRV standard roof rails just fine and do a nice job staying in place. Only used one summer, but no fading yet. I took them off for the winter to help keep them in better shape. My only wish is that they were just a tad wider. It works well for my board, but I would like to have just a tiny bit more coverage on the rail just to allow a little more wiggle room.

Easy to install. They do slide around when you don’t have anything on them & I do note a whistling sound when driving (but easily quiets when I shut the moonroof cover). Easily survived a 1,300 mile moving trip with a 9-foot sea kayak- no slipping or adjusting needed. I’ve kept the pads on my car that is always parked outside and there is zero wear or fading from any type of weather. If they do eventually wear, I would easily buy this product again.
