I really have no complaints, and love that I can get replacement parts for this unit if and when I need to...
I've seen some bad reviews on this machine... but what I like about this product is that it has interchangeable parts, and each and every one of them can be replaced. I've been happy with this machine, and it was my fault that I burned out the silly motor, so I bought the she-bang again, and now I have extra parts and I'm not forever washing things as I've got a set of two of everything... Now... if I could just get a larger kitchen.... lol. I like that the blender part is glass, and a heavy duty glass type... and really, if you read the directions, you can blend just about anything. The food processor part of it is handy, and yes small, but for me, 3 cups is plenty big enough, and anything bigger would just be overkill. Seriously people, for what this machine does, it is a great value, and I did buy it again. I can't remember what I broke, I think it was either the lid or the food processor unit, and I was able to replace it with no problem, and then when I burned out the motor... it was a no brainer for me, I just bought the whole unit again so that I could cut down on washing time and be able to make more things between washings...I saw one reviewer loving that they bought a Ninja... and the Ninja was designed for something different, and I also have a Ninja, but just the silly base and motor. Ninja doesn't sell parts separately, at least not easily where I can find... I've already lost the big pitcher (the clutch part of it that spins from the motor to the blade melted on me... probably my fault as I was expecting it to do more than what it was designed for, but they shouldn't label it "professional" and not really mean it), and the small pitcher shattered on me. And the lids suction onto the pitcher (when I had the pitchers) and don't easily come off... I was scared I was going to peel one apart before I got it off without busting the lid, that is all part of a safety feature for the Ninja... As I didn't buy it from Amazon, I'm not reviewing Ninja under that listing...But just saying, I've been happy with the SmartPower Duet Blender and Food Processor, and bought it again when I finally burned out the motor from the first one (I'm not sure how long I had the first one, but I bought it before I became an avid shopper of Amazon.... paid more for it than what I did here on Amazon, loved it enough that I bought it again...).

We like it so far!
We've had it for a little while now. We've made smoothies and used the cuisinart blades to chop veggies. The blades are super sharp so be careful! The time savings by using this unit versus chopping by hand can be somewhat diminished because you then have to spend time cleaning the unit. However, when doing large quantities of chopping, it's very useful. When using the product as a blender, it seems to perform just as well as any other blender we've owned. We still experienced the smell of the motor as we were trying to get all those chunks of frozen fruit blended. It's definitely not a powerhouse such as the type they have a Jamba Juice but it will work fine for our occasional smoothie making times. All in all, it's a decent product for the price paid.

Only Lasted 9-Months!!!
We purchased this to replace an older unit of the same model because we couldn't get the bottom of the blender jar to seal on the old one, even with new gaskets. For under $60 dollars, buying a new one was the best value option and we would have a whole new unit. It also got good reviews on Amazon at the time. (We see that it is not reviewing as well now, though.)When it arrived, we knew it was an inferior replacement because of how light the motor base was compared to the old one. And it would vibrate VIOLENTLY when in operation, like when blending a fruit smoothie. (The older unit has never done that.) But it got the job done - for just a little over 9 months. It died today while blending a smoothie - the motor slowed and it just died. There was a burning smell as well. This unit is used as a morning fruit smoothie maker 4-5 times a week and also when required for various household meal preparations during the evenings. So it does get a fair amount of use. But this is a Cuisinart -- top-of-the-line, right?! It should be able to handle some fairly serious use. And the old one has (and probably still will for some time). Fortunately, we kept the old unit and are able to use the motor base with the "new" blender jar. By-the-way... We've had the old one for almost TEN YEARS and love it! Sad how crappy so many things are made these days...On that sad day when our old unit finally bites the dust, we'll be looking at other brands for a replacement.

What a time saver
Our old blender (the cheap one from big box store)has given up the ghost. I wanted a GOOD model to work with. My husband surprised me with this and other than it's a little loud, it works like a champ. The first thing we did was crush ice. LOT'S of it. It never labored or nuthin. It chopped to a snow good enough to make snow cones. COOL!!! I've not had much chance of yet, to work with the duo part of the food proceesor, but how handy is this?? As I said, other than being a little noisy,it looks and feels very sturdy. Doesn't move around and has a REAL glass jar. Very nice! I don't think anyone would be unhappy with this machine at all.

not great
We are disappointed in this unit. We got one just like this for our wedding 6 years ago. Rarely used it except to make a couple batches of hummus, margarita's twice, and tomato soup a couple times. Then a black powder started coming out of it. It was out of warranty so Cuisinart couldn't help. I really like the duet option to save space in a small kitchen so we bought another one off of Amazon. We used it twice with the blender option and realized right away that it wasn't going to last. So we boxed it up meaning to return it to Amazon. Our lives got busy and forgot about it until a couple days after the return deadline. So now it sits unused. Costco came to town so I ponied up for a Vitamix for $375. This thing is a beast. We have since started on the smoothie bandwagon and use it every day for drinks with ice and frozen fruit. Their warranty is amazing too.
