Works great doesn't break!
After going through two hardware store sledges and rehandling one with each lasting one or two days I was frustrated. This has held up great after three days and shows zero wear. Fiskars is now my go to splitting ax and sledge for sure. Buy it!

Packs a wallop!
The grip on the handle is comfortable and ergonomic and the shaft is strong but lightweight. I needed a heavy hammer to split larger logs on my stand-up log splitter. It was a little unwieldy at first. It's huge and heavy compared to my 3 lb. hammer but after a few dozen tentative swings I was able to learn how far away to stand and now I'm swinging it like a lumberjack. I've used it to split dozens of large diameter rounds into fire pit ready splits for my smoke-less outdoor pit. It still looks great, showing only slight signs of wear but no splintering or anything like that. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Wow, 'solid' doesn't really do this justice.
This thing is built to last. Smashed my splitting maul about 200 times so far and barely shows wear. I bought a cheaper sledge and the head literally flew off...this is worth the money!
