It's clear that they proportioned all of the cost of this into making the base weighted. The poles are very cheap quality and the threads aren't great. The plastic pieces are also very flimsy and thin. The lamp shade/diffuser is extremely cheap and thin plastic. The instructions are incorrect. They claim yo need to attach 5 poles, but there are not 5 poles included. Instructions also state you may route the cable through the poles, but this is also incorrect because the pole diameter is too small to fit the 2 large things sticking out from the power cable (the switch and the part that plugs into the wall). The final flaw in the instructions is that the top piece that goes directly under the diffuser arrived detached from the top pole. Nothing in instructions says to screw it in and feed the wire through further and out the hole on the side of the top pole. A stupid person would be stuck here!It also appears I received a used unit, with white stuff all over it. This could be why that one part I last described above was detached, as well.It should do for a budget lamp in my living room. I don't care that much about a lamp.. I just want the light mainly. But it's just a bit of a shock to get something so tacky.

This is your basic torchiere lamp. Usual height, see through shade, have base, three poles that screw together in the middle. It works fine. The main difference here is that the cord does not run inside the pole down to (and out) the base. It comes out near the top and runs outside the poles, and the switch to turn on the lamp is a very old-style disc-spin switch I haven’t seen since the days of ceramic Christmas trees. That said - the switch works fine. The lamp works fine. The cord is a little ugly but they did include clips to hold it against the pole so it’s not that bad. You get plenty of length on the cord to go all the way down and still reach a distant socket. The lamp is as sturdy as any screw-the-poles-together lamp and outside of the cord, the fit and finish is fine and what you’d expect from this kind of lamp.

Lots of light

This simple lamp is the perfect size to put in a small spot. Since you put your own bulb in it, you can get an LED of any brightness and color you like. If your needs change, get a different bulb and not a new lamp. Also, since you put your own bulb in it, if there's a problem with the LED, you don't have to throw away the entire lamp. LOVE THIS LAMP.

We are very happy with this lamp. It is very bright, and really brightens our living room. It was a bit of a pain to put together, but worth it.

These are poorly made. I bought 4 and every one bends at the jount where the assembled ections mate. The threaded mating components are too soft and weak to hold this very low-weight lamp. This is my second review, the first one did not meet community guidlines. But I'll keep making these reviews until Amazon lets my review stand for you all to see.
