Best utility knife I've ever owned
I have a large collection of pocket knives that are meant to serve a utilitarian purpose, but often I find I use them until they get dull and then just never get around to sharpening them, instead just opting to pick up another one and start the cycle all over again. I've usually stayed away from box-cutter style utility knives because I find that they're usually not very comfortable to use for long periods of time and they're usually full of annoying rattles and such. I picked one of these up on a whim and have since not gone a day without carrying it. They are quiet, easy to open & close, easy to change blades, and plenty durable. Answered all of my complaints about this style of knife. I have since purchased several of these knives solely because I never like having one outside of my reach. Would highly recommend!

It's actually the 48-22-1901
For those searching for a legitimate Milwaukee Fastback 48-22-1901 (it's discontinued), this is it if you buy it from the seller "PLEXSUPPLY". At least that's the seller I got this one from. The flip and locking mechanisms are butter smooth and snug (as in no wobble). It's very well-manufactured and machined, which isn't always the case in the manufacturing of knives with this kind of flipping mechanism. I used to have this exact knife for years and somehow I managed to lose it indefinitely, even though it was by far my favorite utility knife. When I tried to find a replacement, I learned it had been discontinued and couldn't find it anywhere until now. I found sellers here on Amazon showing pictures of the 48-22-1901, and bought them only to be sent the 48-22-1501.The other knife shown is the new generation of fastback that has replaced the 1901. It is the 48-22-1502. It is the full-size knife with blade storage (5 blades). The 1500 line of knives replaced the 1900s, which is odd because normally when Milwaukee releases a newer model the number goes up, not down.Grip and Feel.To be fair, the 1502 is thicker because of the blade storage, but when using the knife in heavier cutting the force is placed on the first knuckle off of my pinky and ring finger which can be fatiguing over long periods of time. It does have those carved-out grip slots at the back end of the handle which help with grip when the thing gets wet or something like that. The 1501 places the force right at the base of your fingers, which is noticeably more comfortable over prolonged use. It just curls into your hand better. I wear medium size gloves so it might feel different to someone with larger hands though.I've always preferred the larger belt clip on the 1901. It is less stiff than the black clip found on the new 1500 series of knives but so much easier to slide onto your pocket or a tool belt. The slim black clip is less noticeable when holding the knife though. Tradeoffs. The silver clip on the 1901 is still comfortable to work with though, and is worth any drawbacks IMO.I would encourage you to buy one (or more) of these while you can, because you won't be able to later. They could also be worth some money someday, guys I know much prefer the original fastback and would pay good money for one when they lose theirs and can't get one anywhere else. I've got 3 more on the way.

True discontinued 1901
So Milwaukee discontinued their 1901 all-metal model and not have a metal-plastic hybrid that no one likes (I’m looking at u 1501). This was a true 1901. The 1902 that’s advertised is actually the 1502 (same plastic-metal hybrid no one likes with blade storage in the handle). How long the 1901 will ship is anyone’s guess though

Overall it’s a ok utility knife. Down fall is it’s kinda bulky and that if you grab towards the blade the push button release is rite there.
