Sera Super Peat for tropical blackwater aquariums stabilizes the pH value in the slightly acidic range. The natural living environments of fish, such as discus, angelfish or neon tetras, are characterizes by very soft, slightly acidic and often slightly dark tinted water. You can achieve these so-called tropical blackwater conditions without any trouble and lastingly with sera super peat. The functional granulate consisting of natural black peat lastingly lowers the KH and stabilizes the pH value in the slightly acidic range when simply placed in the filter.

Made a difference for me!
This is a great product!!!Added a 1/4 cup of this to my filter, after a couple of weeks I noticed the humic and fulvic acid in this peat doing its job!Plants colored up nicely and water had a sweet, earthy smel. That is a good indicator of bacterial activity. My water is RO water reconstituted to 3 degress GH 1 dKH., I was not looking for a ph drop as my ph is 4.8 after Co2 injection, 6.3 in the morning!I honestly have to say that it made an accountable difference for me, although not scientific. If it makes me feel better about what I see....then it is all good!

Just what I needed
I am an orchid enthusiast and was having issues with maintaining the pH of the water in my self-watering pots with lecca. I put a little bit of this peat in the reservoir and it keeps it the perfect pH needed. A little different use for the product, but works great for it nonetheless!

Amazing. I use this for my hydroponic grow to lower ph safely against the rise caused by clay. It does raise ppm count very slightly, about 20ppm a day, but well worth the investment!

Turned my tank into a swamp!
I bought this to fix too high PH in my fish tank. The tank is mature and was running for ~1 year. "There is always room for improvements" - I thought. Well, this was my first mistakeRight after I've added it to the filter in the mesh bag, the water turned into "tea-like" within a day or so."That's OK" - I thought - "It'll go away". This was my second mistake. The water conditions tests were OK though.But in 4-5 days the water turned cloudy and started gaining swamp-like color.WTF? I've added Accu-Clear and Stress-zyme additives and guess what? The water completely turned dirty-foggy that I barely could see through the tank after another 3 days!Come on, my tank survived <60F during Texas winter freezeout 2021 and some crappy additive is going to kill my fish?!Seems like the brown stuff inside of the box was contaminated with bacterias and they just bloom now in my aquarium.I have never seen anything like that. This is a disgusting, absolutely non-acceptable product. I DO NOT recommend it to anyone!DO NOT buy if you don't want to lose your water and fish. Hopefully, I can recover it.
