In my quest to delve into classic literature, I've transitioned from works like "Pride & Prejudice" and "Wuthering Heights" to "The Great Gatsby." While the language in F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel may seem more straightforward and easily digestible compared to the former, it carries its own unique charm.What I find particularly appealing about classic literature, especially after immersing myself in page-turning contemporary novels, is the clarity and absence of contradictions in their narratives. I bought this as a Christmas present for my daughter. She asked for some of the older classics so I got the collectors editions as I thought they’d look nice on her bookshelf ❤️

I love this text and when I saw this gorgeous cover I wanted to get a new decorated copy too. Was absolutely lovely and really good condition and quality.

Item arrived in excellent condition. This is in my top 3 favourite books, easily. First read it when I studied it for A-levels. Had to order a new copy because of my excessive annotations. Highly recommend

Decided to purchase this after my old copy got scrapped due to damage, and thought it'd be nice to get a hardcover. I was delighted when the package arrived in perfect condition, with no bends or scuffs, and I'm really excited to sit down and re-read it! It's very lightweight and looks beautiful on my shelf.

A edição é muito bonita. É um livro pequeno com capa dura e um desenho bem bonito, porém não pode ficar no sol pq observei que a capa tem tendência a soltar um pouco de tinta. A entrega foi mt rápida, o pedido chegou um dia após a confirmação do boleto. Veio muito bem embalado também.Eu tenho uma boa vista, mas pra quem usa óculos talvez nao seja a melhor edição, pois as palavras e parágrafos sao bem juntinhos.

F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" is one of my favorite books. It definitely belongs to the great novels in American literature. Even a century after it was first published (in 1925), it still offers captivating reading, and the story remains very relatable. There is something about the tragic figure and enigma of Jay Gatsby that still very much resonates in the 21st century.It is a relatively easy book to read (and I say this as a non-native speaker of English who read the English edition, not a translation), and not very big, so you finish it quickly.In true Gatsby fashion I bought this specific edition as a present for a special someone. I therefore specifically looked for an edition with a graphic design suited to the 'roaring twenties'-setting of the book; and for a design that gives the book a luxury feel and look. So I settled for this edition, and I am very happy with that choice.This edition is, due to it's relatively small format, a very handy edition. The compact 18 x 13 cm format makes this edition well suited to take with you while traveling.It has a firm and sturdy (printed cloth on cardboard), and graphically well-designed hardcover. The front cover is illustrated in a very fine and very fitting 1920-ies theme and typography (I am less enamoured by the design of the back of the cover: the typography used for the quote on the backside doesn't have the strong 1920-ies vibe of the front cover. It rather gives me associations to a children's book. But that is a minor quib).This edition has 151 pages. The typography of the text inside the book is in an approximately 8-points font: so not very big, but well-readable if your eyesight isn't that bad.Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase.
