Q: Does it rust? I am looking for one to use at our house on saltwater, and everything rusts easily down there.

Yes. I used mine every day for about 3 yrs. before the small pieces of vinyl started to break off at the bottom of the drainer. At first I bought a bottle of appliance touch up paint and repaired those spots before the bare metal rusted. The vinyl coating does break down over time, but I'm just now replacing it after almost 5 yrs. , so no complaints.

Please, what are the measurements of the *small* one? I am looking for something that is 10"x12" or 11"x13". The 12"x14" does not fit in my sink. Thank you.

Q: Is it possible to get an extra utensil holder?

You would have to check with the manufacturer although I don't see how you could attach it. This model's utensil holder attaches to the inside of the holder, not the exterior.

Q: What makes it antimicrobial?

The Rubbermaid web site says it has "Built-in Microban® antimicrobial product protection fights the growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria."
