3M Cubitron II Roloc Fibre Disc, 786C, 33389, 3 in, 36+ Grit, 15 Pack, High Performance, Fast Cutting, Long Lasting

These are my go to brand, for quality and reliability. Costs more than the other brands, but lasts longer for jobs.

These things cut better and last longer than anything else I've ever used. They zip mill scale off hot rolled steel better than anything else I've tried as well. I didn't believe the hype but I am converted after trying them. If I remember correctly, I decided to try them after watching a Japhands video on YouTube. Another side benefit is the backing or whatever paper they use is stronger so they don't rip as easily. I sometimes catch the edge of the cheaper ones on sheet metal and rip chunks out depending on the rotation (hopefully that's descriptive enough) but these are thicker and it doesn't happen.I get 3 inch instead of 2 and cut them down to smaller diameter as they wear to last even longer. Trust me get some and try em.They are AGRESSIVE! I haven't tried a lower grit yet but they leave a rougher surface than any other 30 grit I've ever tried. I think it's because they stay sharp all the way to the end of their useful life. If you are looking for a polished surface, try something else or maybe a higher grit. They are for extremely fast grinding and shaping and perfect for smoothing welds. They cut so fast you gotta be careful and even seem to cause less heat.

I follow a vehicle fab guy on YouTube. The guy talked about these (not sponsored) and talked really highly about these. The price shocked me compared to what I normally buy. I’ve always used cheaper discs and never really knew any difference, until I tried these.I will never buy the generic or cheap versions again. These are great and don’t wear nearly as fast as the cheaper discs I’ve been buying. I can’t express strongly enough how durable these are compared to the cheepo ones.I don’t know if using several cheaper discs compared to one of these is a price savings, but I really like not having the waste of several discs and being able to work without wasting my time changing discs. As a hobbyist, it’s sometimes worth spending a couple extra dollars on good tools.

These disks make very quick work of grinding down MIG welds on patch panels on old cars with rust. But like all 3M stuff they don't come cheap. I can't say how many feet of weld I had to grind down, but they lasted a fair while.My supposed box of 15 was an Amazon Warehouse deal and only came with 14 but I needed to continue my project and just went on with my work. They did not tell me it came with 1 less, so it was a surprise... But it's Warehouse....

I've used 40 grit sanding belts before on a sander but they don't hold a candle to this 36 grit disc. This stuff cuts through bondo literally like butter. It's so aggressive I have to barely kiss the bondo otherwise it'll eat straight through 1/4 inch in a few rotations. Chews through mild steel quit easily too. I wish I had used this earlier to remove rust cause its a beast.
