This item is amazing. First off I was worried it might not fit my ceiling attic door opening but it went in the perfectly, so possibly these are universal sizes and this item is that size. All you do is just set it in the opening. It stays right in there and does not flop down AT ALL. If you are worried about that. Stapling it down to the sides as others have mentioned is best as it will keep it secure in place, but it is not neccessary. It will still work just probably your hinge on the door will push it slightly out of place when you close it, but not too much. The zipper juts unzips right there on the inside to get through. I have already noticed no attic smell in our upstairs now and usually when you are half way up the stairs to the attic you can feel the heat. Now no heat at all. This thing really works and is completely easy to just set in your opening. If you staple it, then a bit extra work..Thats it..Worth every penny. Oh and should keep our attic wasps from getting through the gap we have from the door and ceiling. So great!

We did a few energy efficient fixes for our house (8 years old house). This was one of them with infrared scan you could clearly see heat was pouring out of the door crack from attic in winter and heat pouring in during summer. This will sealing cracks in door wars noticeably affected temp in house. Stays relatively cool now and power will was 100$ less it even kidding you WOW. Get the package with nail gun. When it’s all done you literally have a nail gun with enough nails to hang Christmas lights for the next 3 years it’s so much. Excellent deal.

I purchased this at the recommendation of my HVAC service technician and installed it on my and my neighbor’s attic stairs using a staple gun. The installation was an easy, and the zipper appears to function smoothly. However, since I don’t frequently visit the attic, the zipper doesn’t get much use except when servicing the heater.The area around the attic stairs seems quieter and better maintains the temperature around the stairs. While this cover may be contributing to energy savings, it’s hard to tell its exact impact.

This insulator was a perfect fit and doing a great job holding back heat. It was easy to install myself. My hands not strong enough to use the stapler so I also bought a heavy duty double sided tape which is holding up perfectly.

We have had this since last summer and I can say it has significantly helped keep the heat from coming through the attic door. Our thermostat is right below our attic door and that was affecting how much our AC unit was running esp in the summer. The quality is great; it still looks brand new. It's a great value for how much money we have and will save on our electricity bill.
