Morinaga Hi-chew Fruit Chews Assorted Fruit Flavors 1.76oz (50g) (Pack of 10) [Misc.]

We love this candy! We love the texture, it's like edible gum. We love the different flavors.. my favorite is grape, 2nd favorite is melon (canteloupe); my husband's favorite is mango; my daughter loves all of them. Flavors we got were the ones in description: 2 packs each of Strawberry, grape, Green Apple, melon, and Mango. If you have a favorite you can order packs of 10 or 20 of only one flavor here on amazon, price depends on the flavor I think..At our local Asian/international market, there are only a few Hi-chew flavors, and sometimes they don't even have them at all. They did have banana which I didn't like so much. Plus I guess they were old cuz they were super hard!So I'm happy with this amazon purchase and would repurchase this. This pack costs $11, comes out to $1.10 each.. even if the price fluctuated it's still worth it for me to order amazon... takes us an hour to get to the Asian store and half hour to get to World Market.. gas plus tax.. then they might not have any!

Hi-Chew, hands down has to be one of the best candies that you may ever try. It's a real shame that it isn't marketed aggressively here in the States. Personally I think that they could become a major player in the market here since the only real competition is Starbursts which lets face it, has no flavor that really comples you.Anyway, I originally got introduced to Morinaga Hi-Chew at my local World Market, when I was looking for a quick candy fix to go along with my Ramune soda and discovered these little guys. But at almost 2 dollars for these and 4 for the bags, I was severely limited I purchasing because let's face it 2+ for some candy is a bit steep. So I was thrilled to find it on Amazon at a competitive rate. All in all, if you haven't tried this product then your missing out on something great.

They're deliciously sweet (but not overbearing) and chewy in a similar way to gum. I wish they lasted even half as long as gum before they dissolved in your mouth, but their fleeting nature is part of why I'm hooked on them. Buying in bulk definitely saves money since the cost $1.50 a pack at my local convenience store. It would also be nice if we had a wider variety of flavors here in the states, but this is just how it is with japanese candy. They horde their myriad of flavors and we have to pay 3 times the price or more just to try the more exotic flavors. Kiwi's really good though.

If you have a "sweet spot" for sweets and/or less than an iron will-then DON'T buy these. That's right, put the mouse down and walk away now! Why, you may ask? Because these tasty morsels are the equivalent of fruity, chewy, delicious crack. (Imagine Starburst without the artificial colors and flavors and a greater variety of flavors.) They are so wonderfully addictive that the package should contain a warning like-"MAY BE DETRIMENTAL TO DIETING AND LETHAL TO DIABETICS".Now, chocolate has always been my "drug" of choice. At least until I tried these tasty tidbits! Now if I was stranded on a desert island and given a choice between a lifetime supply of chocolate or a lifetime supply of Hi-chew assorted fruit chews, the fruit chews would win hands down.Gee, do you think these count as a serving of fruit? Who am I fooling, I'm going to eat them anyway!

The title of this item is "Hi-chew Chews New! Assorted Fruit Flavors (10 Packs) - Strawberry, Green Apple, Grape, Mango & Melon" (copy/pasted) so it was very disappointing to get a package that had banana, peach, and other flavors. By the way, the banana was horrible. All other flavors are great but not what I was hoping for. I have been a huge fan of Hi-Chew for a long time. My favorite flavors are Strawberry, Mango, and Melon. They are amazing. If you have never tried it, you should go with one of those flavors. You will not regret it. However, this package that is advertised as having strawberry had none. As for the mango and melon, only one of each. It did have TWO EACH of banana and peach. If it was advertised as assorted flavors I could understand it. But listing strawberry in the title and then not supplying it, too disappointing to rate this any higher than one star.EDIT: The seller has corrected the error by replacing the incorrect product with the correct item. He has also let me know that they did send the wrong item by mistake. Four stars for the correct item as the flavors are wonderful except for grape, which is still nice but not one I enjoy. Also I don't think it actually tastes much like grapes. The strawberry is excellent, sharp, and sweet with the consistency and tartness falling somewhere between Starburst and Gummy Bears. Melon was wonderful, smooth, and sweet, much like biting into a delicious and ripe honeydew melon. Mango is very nice with a similar tartness, sweetness, and consistency to the strawberry. Green apple is nice and tart. These candies last a lot longer than Starburst do, but have a milder flavor. They will not last as long as Gummy Bears, but that is only if you have the patience to keep chewing and not swallow, something I am not very good at.

This candy is probably one of the best I've had the pleasure of trying. I was given a pack after eating sushi with my wife in illinois. Prior to that I've nevery seen or heard of this candy before. The flavor of any I have tried is rich and doesn't fade as you chew. The texture and consistency is almost like gum but, doesn't stick to your teeth at all. As you chew it just fades away and before you know it you are putting another piece in your mouth. Its not that bad for you either the strawberry flavor clocks in at 210 calories and 31g of sugar and that's for the whole pack. They must know you won't stop eating it until it is literally gone.
