Great fan replacement.
The media could not be loaded. Had to modify my bracket from the 60s to fit. Would buy again to replace next fan in house.

Bathroom Ceiling Fan in Older Manufactured Home
My old bathroom ceiling fan was really noisy. So I measured carefully, and bought this one. The only thing I had to do was carefully trim the fan blades a bit and I have a perfect replacement for the old fan. I'm happy.

Very powerful fan
This fan is great and very strong .Replaced an old one that was super noisy. Had bought another 1 on here and it was very weak and didn't vent air out very well. This one is noticeably stronger and takes less than 5 min to install.

I used it to repair a range hood.
I think it is intended for a bathroom exhaust fan, but I used it to repair a range hood for a neighbor. The fan didn't fit the range hood but the motor was identical to that used in the range hood.

It works and easier/cheaper than replacing the whole unit
Bought this to fix an old Fasco wall mounted bathroom fan. The old motor just had 686 written on it and nothing else. Supposedly this is a replacement for that model (among others). it did work but there were some minor issues...The motor turns the wrong way for my configuration. I had to take the motor apart to reverse the direction. I found a video online showing how to do this. The fan blades on this unit are flatter than on the old, so I re-used the old fan blade. I didn't think the flatter blades would blow as much air. Finally, the fan shaft is shorter than on the old one. This causes the fan blades to sit farther back from the fan shroud than the old ones did. This motor is smaller/shorter than the old one which also contributed. I think this causes less air flow because of the larger gap around the fan. Probably could have figured out some way to add a spacer to the mounting bracket to close the gap but not sure it would have been worth the effort. It's still better than before because the Fasco motor wouldn't even turn (though it was getting power because I could hear the motor hum and vibrate when plugged in).Overall, very happy with this purchase. Motor replacement was much less work than replacing the whole unit. I probably saved a lot of money too. I shudder when I think about how much a contractor would have charged to install a whole new unit because of the work that would be involved (cutting a new square hole at a minimum).

Exactly what I needed
I had to cut the plug off, strip the insulation off the two wires and then use wire nuts to connect this fan. My first photo shows the old fan still installed. The second photo shows a new motor on the left that I got from Lowes, the only one that they carried. The middle motor is the new motor. The third motor (on the far right in the second photo) is the old motor removed. The motor from Lowes with the smaller blades wouldn't work because the air radiated out to the sides and didn't PUSH and draw much air out of my bathroom. I couldn't make the motor from Lowes work by just using the old shaft from the old motor because the shaft from the old motor was a different size. Trying to just make the fan blade from the old motor mount on the smaller Lowes motor shaft just wasn't worth the effort. In hindsight I just should've gone to Amazon in the first place to just get a duplicate of the old motor. After realizing the new Lowes motor wouldn't work I just cleaned up the old motor and reinstalled it until the new motor came in. My experience with fans is that yes, you can clean them up, lubricate and get a little more life out of them but just save yourself some aggravation and put in a new motor and be done with it.

Loud
The media could not be loaded. Very loud, my old motor is still working but I find it very loud so I decided to get a replacement but it’s not that much different.

The best bathroom defender!
My work place has two single private restrooms. We usually use one for number one and the other for number 2. The number 2 was obviously cleaner and the toilet seat isn’t covered in other people’s liquids. Anyhow, one day, the fan stopped working! I used the restroom without the fan on a 100°F+ day and I almost passed out from my own fumes! We didn’t want to wait for the landlord to come out as it would take 2-3 weeks if we are lucky. I checked the fan that we had and ordered something similar. The fan arrived the next day thanks to amazon prime. The fan was smaller than the old fan but it seems to have more blades/shroud on it. We installed it without a problem, 2 screws and one plug and it was done.We left it on to see if it would clear out the stall after I went. It took roughly 2 minutes for everything to be cleared. The test was easy, I had one of my coworker walk in at 30 second mark and another coworker walk in on the 2 minute mark. When the 2 minute mark coworker said he doesn’t smell anything, the 30 second coworker walked in and didn’t smell anything either. This fan saved the day and now I can feel confident to go number 2!
