I bought this to work in my carport that opens into an alley. I've had people break in through the carport and I needed something to record any activity. I had another camera in the back ( wired ) that could not see in the dark, but this thing works great. Its very dark back there and this night view works great and has some decent distance.I've been using this product for over a month and the battery power is still going strong. There are many things that trigger the motion detection such as squirrels and cats so its on a fair amount. I also will turn on live view just to check on things so the camera is used a lot.I have this installed in a carport that is pretty far away from the base unit and is behind our shed in the back so it has a good range.My two complaints are what I've read about before purchasing this camera: delayed recording and the ability to specify the trigger area. For the first critique, I get a lot of video where nothing is happening. I am pretty sure its some small animal running by, but there have been times I have walked by it and no video has come through. I would also enjoy if I could specify the areas in the image that trigger the motion detection. I have a DLink camera that allows you to specify what areas are not used to determine if motion has occurred. In my carport camera, there is a fence that squirrels constantly run on and trigger the camera. If I could turn off that area, I'd get a lot less false movements.Those are small complains from an otherwise great product. I already bought another camera and everything works great. I use the Android app constantly to check videos and view live views once in a while.

Great produce but I really didn’t need this, due to the one that the Arlo comes with was the perfect size. I plan on buying more Cameras so I’m sure I’ll use it in the future.

I like the cameras and I like how easy they were to set up but I was expecting the same features as a wired camera meaning I can have the live view up all the time for a live feed of what is going on in front of my house while I'm working in the office away from the front door. If I use them for a live feed on a dedicated monitor like my iPad I'm sure the camera batteries would be drained quickly and CR 123 batteries aren't fairly cheap like AA's or C batteries. I think these cameras are best designed to detect motion similar and record a clip of that motion similar to my "Ring" doorbell for that type of security use similar to a Field Game camera you can strap to a tree. Although they can be used for a live feed you would replace batteries constantly so perhaps having rechargeable batteries would help but that's not guaranteed. I love the true wireless capability but at the same time that's the feature which hinders their ability to do a constant live feed without constantly replacing batteries. I still give them five stars because they are great at what they are designed to do and the live feed part is my misunderstanding/learning so depending on what you're using them for they can be great. I think ultimately I need a camera that plugs into a power source.

I have a couple of Arlo Pro cameras mounted with these security mounts as well as the standard magnetic mounts that are included, and must say that these security mounts are much better. Not only are they made of solid metal, but they are built in a way that makes me confident that they will last for years even out in the elements. There is a wide range of motion for rotating the cameras into your desired position, and the tightening screw seems to hold in place very well.PROS:1. Easy to install. Three simple screws - included with anchors.2. Extremely durable. Metal designed to last.3. Great flexibility in rotation and camera placement.4. Everything feels very secure.CONS:1. Mount sticks out far enough that it can look weird at certain angles, or make it harder to point exactly where you want it.2. Tightening the mount itself to lock everything in position is counterintuitive. Screws the opposite way you would expect, causing me to lose positioning sometimes.Overall these are the best solution I have found for mounting my Arlo Pro cameras in an unprotected environment. While I found that the standard magnetic mounts work fine when they are outside and covered, I wouldn’t trust them during heavy rain, wind, or snow. These mounts can be used indoors or outdoors, but are likely WAY overkill for indoor use. They are built like a tank to withstand the elements - look no further if you’re putting your Arlo cameras up outside.

Purchased 2 of these for the 2 outdoor arlo camera, i live in northern california, it has got some rust on it but it doesnt bother me as much as the other reviewers.I'm here to tell to to get these if you have arlo cameras set up for outside.You've already invested in a security camera, now invest a little extra more money to secure your investment.Arlo comes with the basic magnetic mount, for outdoor use anyone can walk over and knock it down with a broom stick.Get these mounts to secure ur camera, if not these ones then get the generic brands!I have my Arlo cameras paired with these mounts and the solar panel.I no longer have to worry about taking down the camera and recharging the battery and then having to remount/reposition the camera.
