PlayStar Climbing Bar Kit

I got this kit plus 2 packs of the bars only (total 12 bars). Modified the plans and used 4x4 posts 8 feet long instead of the 2x4s 4ft long. and also used 4x4s for the support legs/ladder. I put 4 bars for the ladder and 7 bars along the top. The 4x4s are needed to make it stable for an 8 foot span. I also needed to buy longer bolts 4.5 inch for the angle brackets. It is very sturdy and bolted onto the existing 4x4 cross beam on my daughters play system. I put the monkey bar rails on top of the coss beam on my existing system, instead of but-joined like the photo shows.I would recommend this item. But I think the 2x4 plans are sort of week and would reccommend using 4x4s instead. My daughter and her friends played on them all weekend (until their hands hurt too much to hold on). They climb all over them, on top, on the sides she even slung a swing over the one side so she could add one to her existing play system.The screws used to hold on the bars are just galvanized screws but they look pretty good and should not rust for at least a few years anyway. We'll see. Might need to replace those in a few years. but galvanized screws usually last pretty long. The bars are pretty heavy duty. They hold my 170 lbs no problem. Even the ones I used for the ladder hold my wt without any issues. My daugher loves the this addition to her system.

Fairly easy to assemble. Followed the instructions that were provided and purchased the lumber. Please be sure to double check your lumber to make sure it is straight and not warped. Bought this to build an extension to our current playset. Monkey bar so far have been working great. Good fun for the kids.

built a structure to existing play set with treated 4x4s to add monkey bars. These are a perfect addition very strong and colors matched well to gorilla play set.

I bought these connection plates to add a set of monkey bars to a playhouse that I built for my grand kids. They worked out really well. They were fabricated well and made attaching pretty easy. There are impressions in the plates that make alignment very easy and that also adds to the strength of the plate itself. I wanted more than 4 rungs for the monkey bars, so I bought another set of bars for the monkey bars and used the 4 that came with the set for ladder rungs, which worked out great. I might add that the other set of bars I bought and the ones that came with the set were slightly different in length. Not that big a deal, but if you want them identical, they aren't. I pre-installed and fabricated as much as I could before heading over to assemble. I used 4x4 post instead of 2x4 and I recommend you do the same if you extend the length of the set the way I did. I added some other grab handles for safety and to make it more secure for the kids to hang on. I wasn't sure they needed it, but they went right to them without giving a second thought. The only reason I gave a 4 was, because the bolts and screws that came with the set were substandard. I had to buy longer bolts anyway since I used 4x4s versus 2x4s so it didn't really matter, but the few screws I used that were supplied were not very good quality. This kit was wonderful. It included everything needed to make monkey bars. I ended up purchasing two of them to make a stand alone monkey bar set and it works great. My daughter absolutely loves them.

I bought 2 sets and built a stand-alone version. It’s a little wobbly. Wish I used 4x4s instead of 2x4s. The brackets and bolts that came in the box were good quality. However, the screws were not. Some of them broke half way through.

This is a bar kit. Out of 4 bars just 1 arrived. This is some sort of joke. Poor packaging on top of it Very frustrating
