Excellent product...beats buying a new dishwasher!
I had waited way too long to try to repair my dishwasher rack. It took a Dremel to cut out badly rusted out areas and to cut some of the tines shorter. I then used the Dremel to sand away the rest of the rust. I first purchased just the vinyl tips alone, but after an email from the company, ordered this Uber Goop to "glue" the tines on. (I thought the caps would just stay put by themselves; I was wrong.) The product was delivered quickly and worked exactly as advertised. I had previously bought Rerack from Lowes, and I used this as well since there was so very much to cover.I found that Rerack was thinner and did not thicken up as quickly; BUT, with the Uber Goop I got a thicker coat than the Rerack, so the areas I used the Goop took half as many coats than the Rerack. When both products got a little too thick, I just added some acetone (I actually used lacquer nail polish thinner) to thin it out a bit. Everything worked out great and I ended up glad I had both products since my racks were in much worse shape than anyone else's I've heard about. Honestly, it never occurred to me there was any product at all that would repair my racks until I looked it up on the internet. Both products get great reviews, so I am confident now that my racks are ready to use that they will last for a while. If I remember, and there is no guarantee that I will, I will try to come back in a few months to let you all know how well each product held up. Looking at my racks right now, before they have actually been used in the dishwasher, it looks like the Uber Goop areas are thicker coatings and hopefully will hold up as well as they appear they will.I have no complaints about this product or this company. I even had a question about the dry time and sent them an email and was answered in minutes. I appreciate good customer service, especially when you are dealing with purchases by mail.Would I buy this again?.......absolutely. In fact, I would probably skip the Rerack altogether and just go with the Uber Goop instead. It's a little bit messier, you must work fast, but the end result looks much more durable.

Good Stuff
I would recommend this product to those who have a rust problem with their dishwasher rack. It is necessary to remove all the old damaged vinyl covering and the rust underneath before applying the goop. After scraping as much of the rust off as possible I used steel wool to burnish the metal and then applied two coats approximately one hour apart. This product dries very quickly. My method of keeping the air our of the open bottle is to hold the bottle between my thumb and middle finger and use the index finger to cap the bottle when the brush is removed. My biggest mistake was not to use a rubber glove on this hand. I ended up with a coating of vinyl on the end of my finger that was most difficult to remove. Most if it came off after some major scraping. I was not able to get as smooth a finish as the original application but it sealed up all the rust spots. Overall, I am quite satisfied with this product.

Works great, but move fast!
The goop works very well, but be aware that you have to work fast, and you have to use the whole bottle at one time - you can't can't re-seal the bottle and use the rest later. So my advice:- Make sure that you've planned your repairs and prepared the surface where you're going to apply it before opening the bottle. I used a Dremel with a steel brush wheel to remove the old coating and polish the rust off, so that the goop was on a solid base, and the result was great. If you open the bottle first, the goop will be hardening while you're preparing, and if you're doing extensive repairs it may not make it.- Work fast - once the goop starts hardening, the appearance isn't as nice, because it doesn't spread as smoothly (it is bumpy and balls up). So work fast!- Plan on multiple coats - the first coat might be sufficient to protect the metal, but it's pretty thin. After three coats, things look very nice. The goop dries very quickly once applied, so doing multiple coats doesn't require any waiting.- My advice is to buy two bottles, just to be on the safe side. I had extensive repairs to make (on a dish washer rack) and the first bottle covered everything, but the second bottle's additional coats made it look much nicer, and I suspect last longer. Though if your repairs aren't extensive (mine were) one bottle should be fine. But IMO I'd rather have a spare bottle in the closet than an incomplete repair (and waiting a week for a second order).- You need to put a tiny bit of 'goop' under the tips, to glue them into place. If you just stick the tips on the tines of the rack, the dishwasher spray can knock them off.

Bought in 2016
I had to look up when I purchased it .. because its been awhile... I got it in 2016 -- this is 2023 and it is still holding up and doing the job. The interior racks of my GE dishwasher are plastic-coated metal and they were starting to rust where the "prong" meets the bottom grid. Replacement racks were close to the cost of a NEW dishwasher! So I got these instead ... I got the "kit" that has the "goop" along with the white plastic caps that go on the "tip".... I took my racks out and coated the parts I could see were rusting .. and its 2023 and I'm still using that same dishwasher.

It helps
Ships fast! I had a few places (where plates sat on dishwasher rack) that the coating had worn off and the rack rusted. I replaced the whole rack once and it was very expensive, the new racks did the same thing. I was looking for a solution and found this product. It was easy to use and looked good. However, the coating has started to come off again where the plates rest on the rack. Nothing else bothers the coating, so I try to place the plates on another section of the rack to avoid this problem. I have plenty of coating left, so I can re-do it. I think that I will wrap the racks with some plastic or rubber tubing before I reapply. I'm really glad that I bought the product, but it is not the perfect solution, but it definitely helps and it saved a lot of money over having to replace the rack!
