MerrellMen's, Hydro Moc Water Shoe

It's amazing to me how quickly we are to judge a book by its cover. I'll be the first to admit these exoskeleton looking shoes might be a bit off-putting by how they look but, trust me, once you wear them, you won't care what other people think about how they look. I had seen these shoes out in the wild for a while but never gave them any thought and certainly didn't think I'd ever want a pair. Then, through a set of circumstances, I ended up trying a pair on owned by a friend of mine. I was so impressed with how comfortable they were, I immediately ordered three pairs in different colors and I couldn't be more pleased. They feel super amazing on my feet and I love walking in them, even for fairly long distances. If you're looking for a great amount of support, particularly orthotic support, these are not the shoes for you. They're flat--very flat. But for me, they feel almost as if I'm walking barefoot and that's a good feeling. They provide great traction on various types of terrain including wet surfaces and seem to be quite durable. Although I've not worn them to the beach, I do have a pool and have not had any problem with them getting wet. They're easy to put on and take off and even though I have very wide feet, these shoes provide plenty of room so my dogs don't feel the least bit cramped in them. If you have very narrow feet, they may not provide the best fit. I can't say that for sure but be aware, they seem to be extremely roomy, despite the fact that I mostly wear them with fairly thick half ankle socks. However, I feel just as comfortable walking in them barefoot, just not for very long distances without socks. That's not what they're designed for. Never having worn Crocs, I can't say how these compare but I can say, I don't feel the need to try any other brand because these are just that good and, for me, the price is just right for what you get.

I am wearing them as I type. They are that comfortable!I purchased these as an alternative to the commonly worn EVA clog that I just cannot stand to see. The appearance of these is much more to my liking. They are easy to get on and off, yet they do not slip off of my feet. I keep the strap up over the "tongue" so I can just slip in to the shoes... the heel just pops in place after my foot is in. As I said, they are very comfortable.The color is definitely to my liking. They have an "outdoorsy" look.Being 100% made of EVA plastic, they will not absorb water like my Keen sandals. This will be a great benefit when putting my boat in and out of the water. My feet will not be wet for the drive home.I like these so much, I expect that I will be purchasing at least 2 more pairs to have when this pair inevitably wears out.

This is my second pair after 5 years. My old ones lasted forever until my new puppy chewed them. I think I had sage or herb before. I got Walnut this time and they're super uggo. But I don't care. They're the best shoes for quick chores and walking the dog. People who complain about the tread durability are being ridiculous. It's foam! It's a fancier Crock. You're not supposed to wear them out in public for long periods. If you try to live in these yes they will disappoint. Because they're just high density foam!!! Use common sense.

Nice water shoe but sizes run way big. I’m a size 12 and ordered an 11 based on others comments. Still quite loose on my feet.

One of the MVPs of a 4 day Yosemite backpacking trip. Sturdy, easy to put on, great colour palette for the region, great for going in and through water. Also used it for a full day trip barefoot and got no blisters. Winner.

Don’t wear them in sand…becomes an irritant if inside shoe. Otherwise, very comfy for walking my dogs daily.

A pleasant surprise! Light, stays in place. Can't wait to get the canoe out and try them wet.

Shoes were good but obviously pre worn as there were a bunch of goathead thorns in the soles and easy to see wear on the heel. They were cheap and fit so live and learn Amazon isn’t always the best. Others said they ran big but thankfully I didn’t follow this and ordered my size and they fit just fine.
