Are these chisels durable enough for marble and alabaster?

They perform well on limestone and slate. Marble is a bit denser than limestone and alabaster is softer. This tool kit is a great add-on to a complete kit with larger chisels. It is ideal for doing small detail work and that is why I bought the set.

Can I engrave metal with these. I want to add a design to a mallet.

Yes he will. I bought this for my nephew and it was perfect. You just need like a kid sized hammer. That’s what we got for him.

How well would these work for steer horn?

I've used them on stone which is much harder so if you sharpen them a little more they should work on horn
