Charles-Hubert, Paris 3780-G Gold-Plated Mechanical Pocket Watch

I purchased this as an anniversary present for my husband six months ago. It's beautiful and never fails to impress when he shows it to friends. He wears it on a chain in his pocket every day and it has held up really well. It does require winding, but if you don't mind that small amount of maintenance, it keeps perfect time.

The article is just as promised (though the hands are black, not blue - not a problem for me). However, the in-person beauty of the pocket watch just doesn’t quite have the same magic as the wonderful photo. In particular, in person the jewel bearings do not stand out substantially from the mechanism. If you buy this expecting to enjoy tiny beautiful jewels glittering when you open the watch, you will discover the photographer was perhaps more deserving of his fee than the watch its. Also, the button that opens the hunters is so tall, and the clip on the chain so round, that simply holding the pocket watch up by the chain is likely to open it - I am concerned I will have trouble being able to keep it closed.However, considering that this model is listed on the Brand site for $400, Amazon’s ask for only $200 is the perfect bargain. That being said I have found that I much prefer the $65 Charles Hubert I ordered from Amazon at least just as much, if not more than this one.If I could go back in time and give myself advice, I’d tell myself to just get the $65 one and save $200 dollars.

I love me some pocket watches! I have always wanted one with the mechanical gears. Looked high and low to see if I was insane for going with the price drop, but it was great. Showed up winds perfectly and is definitely a watch I will pass on to my family.

I have been ripped off by Amazon. I bought this watch, did not work, and returned it. No money back. I don't know how they can operate this way.

Poor quality control! crystal cracked,small (J) shape sliver of black metal directly on the underside of the crystal right in the middle of the crystal!! previously bought another CH-P disappointed! ran for ten days hour and minute hand froze together! I do not recommend CH-P price point is too high!! I have a thirty dollar pocket watch running strong without problem.

THE ADVERTISEMENT PICTURE IS INCORRECT; the 3780-G arrived a few minutes ago and it does *not* have BLUE hour and minute hands as shown on the website product page.I am quite disappointed because that was a major consideration in my decision to purchase the watch.That aside, it is a beautiful watch:* the jewels show well, both on the face and on the back movements* the balance wheel is well shown* the bezel is bright and shiny* the face numerals are clear and sharpAttached picture from your website that clearly show blue hands from advertisement contrasted with black hands was received. This pocket watch is for myself . I love a good pocket watch and this one is over the top.

This watch is beautifull to engrave and keep as a souvenir. Sometimes I look at it and it'srelaxing to watch it's mechanics in operation. It takes your mind away if you are agitated.An antique toy to look at.
