I was all set up ready to go, all i needed was the keyfob. So as soon as the UPS driver handed me the package, it took me longer to unbox it than it was to program. If anyone is having issues, here's what I did. I used RossTech VCDS. Put the original key in the ignition and turned to on. Went to Central Conv, pulled the drop down for Remote Programming. Read Bit 0 into memory and saved. then went to bit 1 and changed the bit to 2 (for 2 keyfobs). Clicked Save, then held the lock button on each keyfob for 1-2 seconds. turned off ignition. Now the new keyfob works and the old one. You have to have a physical key for this to work, doesn't matter if you lost the keyfob while trying to program the new one as VCDS will put the computer in pair mode. This key worked on a 2006 VW Jetta TDI BRM. Now, just need to get the key cut but that's not a big deal now.

This is a high quality sturdy replacement. However, it is not as water resistant as the original. It’s an easy fix if you apply sealant but you do need to be careful. Overall this was an incredible deal and I believe this is an excellent value for the money.My keys have been dropped, thrown in a key bowl, sat in and everything is still working great. 9.5/10 (only because it’s not as water resistant as the last keys due to not having that thin rubber strip where the FOB closes like the original did.

The key does not work for my vehicle even though it’s identical to my current key and they say it works for a 2010 Jetta I had the key laser cut and that process went smoothly but they were unable to program it to the vehicle

No VW badge/sticker but much cheaper than other OEM key options. After cutting and programming still came to 1/2 what dealership wanted. Stiff to break apart and install battery but was able to after a few tries. Programmed and cut very easily, works like a charm

Vw dealership price would be $400.00 for key, made a copy & reprogram. So this is very worth it and go to locksmith with auto reprogram and you save about $300.00

I bought it for my 2010 VW Jetta but didnt end up using it because it didnt have a chip in it to program

Item worked perfectly! Make sure you get someone that is very knowledgeable and has the correct equipment to program the keys.

As long as you find a locksmith that can program it it was a life saver
