I ordered this for my literature course and I have to admit, I wish that I would have bought the set rather than renting them. I really want to buy a new set of these just so I can have them in my own personal book collection. I love how the books were broken down into time periods and all of the readings were in an easy order and everything was easy to follow. The line numbers really helped when I had to write papers and reference text from the reading.Anyone who doesn't need them for a college course and just wants a great set of classic literature, should definitely purchase this!

Like new condition and books turned out to be very interesting. The creation stories explain a lot. The first set of books that I’ve bought for school that I actually used and learned from.

paid for all three volumes was only sent volume A needed them for as collage class and will now fail that class as i dont have enough time to reorder the other two volumes i need for the class.

I resale the books and would like more time to reture if there a problem, it takes me about 3 to 4 weeks before I see how it was ship,

All books came quickly and in relatively good shape. The anthology itself often only has excerpts from source material so it's more of an abridged anthology as opposed to a panoply of works. Excellent for a beginner or someone looking for a wide exposure to a lot of different works.

Amazon saved me $25.My school's bookstore wanted $50 for a 1-month rental. Amazon wanted $20 for a 6 month rental, plus $5 for 1 day shipping. Thanks, Amazon.The book itself is eh. The translator decided to keep the language simple and attractive to young people and perhaps inadvertently killed much of the beauty and poetry of the works withing, particularly the Iliad.

Bought these for a class - and Amazon is WAY cheaper than the bookstore if you know what you need ahead of time. This anthology is pretty good I guess, I'm not an English major so I can't really speak to the selection of literature. Personally not my kind of stuff (I'm a sci-fi kind of dude), but there was a good verity. I can say that the durability of these paperbacks is pretty decent. I carried a volume around in my backpack for a few months and it has held up quite well - no reason to go for a hardcover. The pages are a little thin (but if they were too thick this thing would weigh 10lbs), but they have held up when I wrote on them. I don't think I ripped any of the pages erasing my notes.
