This thing is certified BEEF.
I've had cheap ponchos that use sil nylon for waterproofing. I live in the PNW. The rain here is built different. In the PNW you need 100% waterproof (which is hard to find despite manufacturer claims)this poncho delivers that with the pvc lining (pictured) it rides to about 2" above my wrists with my arms extended out infront of me. I'm 5'10 220 and this fits me great, plenty big. Covers my HONCHO poncho woobie just fine. Its a bit heavy probably around 1.5lbs, but it is strong and very very waterproof.Torrential downpour quality.Overall exactly what I was looking for 10/10 starsUpdate -Got about 5 outings on this poncho now and it has performed exceptionally well.As a main shelter I would advise against it in extreme weather.I can lay down on the ground under this with a mainline and tie outs at the corners and it will keep the rain off, until the wind start blowing the rain i. The ends. I spent the night in a rainstorm with just this and a sleeping bag and mat, it worked, but rain blew in from the head and feet ends and I was quite damp and cold due to that fact. Something to think about

Veey good quality for the price.
Excellent quality and muli purpose. Can be used as a shelter and with a liner could be used as a sleeping bag.

Was wanting it for mainly a cool to warm weather sleeping bag
Was wanting a 4.5. Just received it today. Seems smaller than what I remember our active duty ponchos were. Was wanting it mainly to use a poncho liner with. The poncho liner is a bit bigger than the poncho itself. Personally I feel the poncho should be larger then the liner to keep it protected. Was wanting it for mainly a cool to warm weather sleeping bag. It will still work for this. As for use as a poncho I have not tested it. With it having the rubberized coating it should not get wet inside from the outside rain. Sweating underneath might be different story though. I could see it getting warm inside quickly. It does have tie outs on several of the grommets so additional cordage may not be needed depending on the size of poles or trees being used to create a make shift shelter. It does have the rope on the inside that can also be used for additional tie outs. Overall seems to be a quality poncho for first impressions. To go with my poncho liner I will be looking for a larger poncho though. Personal preference.

Excellent
This was for my son, he has used it and it works well, fits well, seems like a good product. Too early to report durability but it looks well made.

Great product - it arrived just in time for an outing that started with 10 hours straight rain. When I wasn't wearing it it was used to extend my shelter keeping me dry. All parts are well made strong rip stop material.

Good poncho
The button snaps make a little noise while moving around, but it is a great universal fit. Not really designed to insulate warmth, but it repels water fine. I can fit my plate carrier over it easily

A great Poncho for the price.
I have yet to field test this Poncho but after inspecting it and trying it on this was what I was looking for. This poncho seems very well made and is very light. I have been looking to put together a really lightweight shelter kit and this fits the bill nicely. I will do a follow up review after field testing it.
