Nicely engineered 1/10 scale RC kit from Tamiya
Easy to assemble and there are many aftermarket parts for this 1/10 scale RC car. Tamiya makes excellent models high quality plastic and rubber parts. Overall I am happy with the purchase.

Cheap fun
Dropped a 5200kv brushless in this and it's resurecting my love for rc cars. This is a rugged, basic, intelligent design for a great buggy. Honestly on a tight track or smaller area even the stock motor is appropriate and awesome. There's a ton of information and parts available for this car and if your budget is under $200 there's absolutely no reason not to choose this. It's a blast to build too. And if your budget is higher there's a ton of hopups available and this could be a world class 1/10 car.

Fun to build. Brought back memories. Wish a few parts were of higher quality.
I ended up getting this car from another place that had it on sale. It was a "Tower" of a bargain the time. This is the first RC car I've had in probably 20 years. I still have an old HPI RS4 nitro that I got from my brother. I wanted something to bring back old memories and to build with my kids. Tame has always been very high quality and easy (but complicated enough) to enjoy as a project. This car didn't disappoint in that regard. It took me about 12 hours to build it. That included the extra "help" my children were giving me. Given a nice quiet area, 4-6 hours is probably not unheard of. I chose to dye my wheels a dark color and paint the body copper color. This looks nice and retro. The white and blue were too chintzy for me.A few notes:- Be sparing with the shock oil. There is just enough to fill the reservoirs. Don't spill a drop- If you get one shipped from over seas, you'll save ~$50, but be prepared to buy a speed controller (can be had for $15-$20 for a simple one)- Have multiple sizes of screw drivers- buy your paint. The body comes with large white stickers for the white parts. I think they look bad when placed over the complex curves of the body. Had I to do it over again, i would have masked the white out and done it manually.- Don't over tighten the screws. The plastic is soft (which makes it tougher) but will strip very easily.overall, it was a great experience building the car a little bit at the end of each day. The kids really enjoyed it and they are very proud of it. It brought back so many memories for me. I'll never forget smelling the rubber tires on models like this on Christmas morning when I was a kid. That was the best. Tamiya still does a great job of packaging nice cars that are fairly easy to build. I wish some of the materials were better, but, this is a very inexpensive car when comparing to more complicated/race-ready models, so, I can't really complain.Last thing: It is highly recommended to pick up a ball bearing set. That's about $15 well spent. The stock bearings are actually teflon. They used to be oil-impregnated brass back in the day. This is super cheap on Tamiya's part in my opinion. The bearings are much easier to install during assembly than later on.

Fun Tamiya kit.
Fun kit to build. If you like Tamiya products then you'll like this. One warning though is that it has poor ground clearance. Not suitable for rough terrain as is. Steering linkage upgrades will be something you buy soon.

Not Top Race Quality
If you want something fast and easy to drive, get a good radio ,steering servo and a set of ball bearings. You will enjoy the build. If you want a full-on competition race 4wd buggy look elsewhere. To make this competitive will require so many upgrades that you would spend less money on an Associated, Losi or Kyosho 4wd kit.
