On the surface, this appears to be a bit pricey, but the "bang for the buck" is worth the cost. My son gave me this for Christmas several years ago and I use it everyday to open bottles and pull top cans. I am 73 and have lost a lot of grip strength from aging and arthritis. I ordered this one simply to keep in my car. It is a very sturdy tool, very well made and holds up to use. I have not encountered a bottle that it did not open and the "hints" brochure that comes with it was very helpful in learning how to maximize its use. I have recommended this to friends and would not hesitate to give it as a gift to anyone who has difficulty with hand strength. The magnet is very strong and I keep mine on my refrigerator so that it's always within easy reach.

Bought this for drinks kept in my bedroom mini-fridge, mainly for soda can pop-tabs to keep my long nails from breaking or cracking. Works perfectly! It's also been helpful with twist-off water bottle lids. I'm 70+ years old, have arthritis, bursitis, and 2 torn ligaments in my dominant arm (ouch!). This gadget has been so helpful! My only "complaint" is that the magnets to place it on the fridge are SO STRONG! I'd originally placed it on the side of my little fridge, but when struggling to get it off to use it, it fell to the floor in the small space between the fridge and dresser. Was able to retrieve it with my handy grabber stick. I now keep it on TOP of the mini-fridge with the small end extending over the side (see photo); no more dropsy! This is a great tool for elderly, disabled, or just needing to save your fingernails.

Because I have tendinitis in my shoulder and weakness in my arm and hand, I need help with opening bottles, jars, and cans. While this opener isn’t large enough to open most jars, it does a good job helping me open water and drink bottles. And the slot it has for pulling tabs on cans works great too. Just about everything I need in one tool. I don’t know that I would give it as a gift but it would be good for kids going off to college in that kind of thing. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who has problems opening bottles for whatever reason.

I am in my 70's and over the past few years opening water bottles and food cans that have a top that has to be lifted and then pulled off has been getting harder and harder. I almost did not purchase this bottle opener because of the price but when I thought of how upset I was getting in the kitchen struggling to open food cans and bottles I decided to give it a try. It has a slight "learning curve"....at least for me but now I love it. It works as described, makes opening water bottles and those food cans like soup, fruits and vegetables come in with the lift and pull tab so easy to open. The fact that it is magnetic and I can just leave it on my refrigerator makes it very handy to grab whenever I need it.

I just had surgery in the palm and finger of my hand, and could not open cat food, soup cans or any other pop tops cause I could not use any force on the hand!!I am 67 years old and till now have not considered purchasing any "special needs" tools. I surfed the web looking for something that would work without breaking my 30 stitches to open a can....and then I found EXTREME Magic Opener on the Amazon website.This opener was great for lifting off the pop top of the cat food can. Used it to pop it open in one direction, then turned the opener to a 45 degree angle and pried the rest of the top off. Works great for soda cans as well.Till now, I used a dull knife to lift pop tops so I didn't damage my nail polish or chip nails, but always thought that wasn't too safe or smart of an idea - but didn't look for anything else till now.This product is great for all women who want to keep their nails in good shape and for your Moms and Dads to make life a little easier for them!When it comes to water bottles, if the interchangeable template in the standard opener does not fit the particular brand of water you use, you will have to purchase other inserts.The packaging on the product makes it look like it has carnival colors - BUT THE OPENER IS MOSTLY BLACK and therefore attractive enough to put on your fridge by it's magnetized back or just sit on the counter.

My last magic opener purchased in 2017 lasted me 5 YEARS. I had this new one for ONE DAY and it crumbled to pieces in my hand, my first time using it!!!Why did I pay over $20 for it to break day one?

I love this bottle opener because it works SO WELL! What I do not love is that within days the yellow plastic/silicone/whatever it is on the outside had developed a sticky film that WILL NOT CLEAN OFF no matter what we try to use on it!! It just looks gross because it's all gray and brownish, and we have no idea why it did this. I keep it hidden so that guests can't see it, and I use a paper towel to hold it now.

This is an AWESOME opener!!! I really don’t know how I ever did without it! I have an intelligent cat that insists on eating canned cat food twice a day (along with prescription dry cat food) and he’s loving my using the opener on his cans. No more struggles with the pull tab, no more broken fingernails, and no more listening to Mom constantly complaining! Seriously, I can only say wonderful things about the opener. I love the fact that it opens bottles, beer tabs, and even pop bottles. In fact, I ordered 2 more for my daughter and daughter-in-law to put in their Christmas stockings. This has got to be right at the top of the list for unique kitchen inventions. I also have to mention that the magnetic backing is so helpful...I have it on the side of my microwave over the stove, where I open cans for cooking, so it is always available to grab and use! I’m so happy that I found this on Amazon, and I highly recommend it to anyone (especially cat moms).
