This is an extremely well made, high quality bag. I was anxious about the reviews that reported a strong, unpleasant lingering odor. But I saved it in my Amazon cart anyway and kept retuning to look at it because I really liked it. I liked the look, shape, pattern, the fact that it was outer soft leather interior cloth materials and that it was fully returnable if necessary.I took the precaution of ordering charcoal packets at the same time to be prepared due to the risk of foul odor. I received the item promptly. In my case, when I opened the package the only odor was that of fine leather and what I recall that of being in a shoe repair shop. I love this type of smell, but I also like the smells of gasoline, old fashioned magic markers and paint. (so if those types of scents feel particularly noxious to you, it might not be a great option). The odor was noticeable but being a fan of leather products I did not find it problematic at all. It certainly was not overwhelmingly strong and faded after a few days once in open air.I was very impressed by the style, colors and quality. Also for a leather bag - it was lightweight, which I appreciated.For all these reasons I gave this item the highest rating even though unfortunately, this bag was just too large to meet my needs and I, very reluctantly, returned the item. I held onto it for over 2 weeks thinking it over and looking at it… I can’t stress how much I liked this bag. But I finally decided I just would not have occasion to use it. Happily my full refund was immediately processed. I am so sorry this seller does not offer an option that is a bit smaller for everyday use because I promise I would have it!!IF you are a fan of large, roomy handbags or smaller to midsize totes I would HIGHLY encourage you to purchase!!!

Wow, this bag is gorgeous. Appears well made and did I mention GORGEOUS? Thus the five stars.And now to the WOW.This. Bag. Stinks. To. High. Heaven.I’m very sensitive to smells and I can’t even leave this in a room down the hall from me the smell is so strong.Another poster said she bought charcoal bags to alleviate odor, so I had purchased those prior to receiving the bag, in anticipation of it actually being that bad.It’s that bad.Bad enough that I put the charcoal bags in the purse and then placed the purse in the plastic bag it came in and put more charcoal bags in there - and it’s still so strong that I had to put it outside on the porch.I have high hopes that the smell will dissipate with the charcoal, but be forewarned there is no way to have this bag and just use it straight out of the box.In fact, I should have listened to the other posters about how bad the smell is, because if I had trusted more, I probably wouldn’t have purchased it.So if you’re willing to purchase extra products to try and get the smell out, and wait to use the bag, it IS gorgeous!

The odor is horrible. I even tried taking it outside the house after the fumes of strong chemicals made me sick with a nightmare headache! After 2 days I still smell the odor. I will send it back. The colors were off.

There is an odor, working to see how to get rid of it.other than that, live the bag.

Odor only faint for my colorful bag and it disappeared after an airing on patio. Am pleased to add this spacious bag to my portfolio of purses and figure it will be especially striking when paired with all black in tops, pants or dresses. Could have done without the cheapie tassels and may be removing for a classier long ok.

BEAUTIFUL BAG, HORRID SMELL... STINKS UP ENTIRE ROOM, HOUSE, CAR, WHEREVER IT IS IT SMELLS AWFUL AND CAUSES HEADACHES

This is the second of my first time writing a review. Yes it is true, the smell from the bag is horrible.when I say the bag it just spot to me and said "I'm for you!"I I love unique and wearable art. That's what this bag is. I labored with it and found a way to remove the odor. First I used odor eater - you know the spray for stinky sneakers. Well that just cmasked the odor for a minute. Then I tried Febreze. Febreze tried but this odor is tough. Amazon sells these charcoal filled mini bags. I put eight bags inside the main compartment. I then put a a charcoal bags one in each of the smaller compartment of the bag except the extra small pockets. I left the bag closed for about a week. I left it on a chair near the window. I checked it after a week and the odor was completely gone. All you could smell was pure leather. HURRAY! I was determined to keep this bag because it is so beautiful and you won't see everybody with one. I am often asked :Where did you get that bag?" It dresses/classses and turns up any outfit.) I use it wearing Jeans, or with a solid colored suit ( White, Red. Navy Blue, Black ) and accessorize with Jewelry that comes out of the bag which are many. You can wear leather or patent shoes and it will work. It is season-less. I chose the calmer colored bag with the most colors in it, not the real bright multi - color. Thats just my style. If you like extra bright then go for it. The bag is worth its weight in gold and is timeless. You can overcome the odor challenge and you will be so glad you did. The handles are a black and gold rope style and I must say the bag is strong! It hold my large Bible, Song Book, Portfolio,Ipad, Phone, Keys, and a pair of ballet flats for church. Lastly the carbon bags are good for anywhere that you have mildew or odor like the laundry bag, hamper, under the sink, sweaty sneakers. The bags are washable - let air dry. I hope that you are blessed by the review and not afraid to buy the bag.
