EMG ALX Pickup Set

This pickup is simply amazing. In passive mode, you get all the attack and clarity one would expect from a high quality, high output pickup. Activating the active pre-amp boosts the output without sacrificing any of the clarity or string/note definition of the passive pickup. Depending on how you set the EQ on the pre-amp, many different tones can be had in boost mode. I prefer to primarily boost the mid range so that solos really cut through any mix. The amount of boost is also adjustable, so it is pretty easy to set up the pre-amp to your personal taste. I am planning to put another one in a custom built guitar very soon, and yet another one in a Strat that I swap pickups in by changing the pick guard to suit any tonal need. Very highly recommended!

As much I would love to give a higher rating, unfortunately this product did not come with the items as viewed in the photo, I was super excited about the wristband that was supposed to come with the pick up set... It was definitely a let down and should definitely be discounted in some way for the reason that you are not paying for what is in the picture. I advise to update the photo without the wristband. As I'm sure some may feel the same way once they open the package and find an empty space that is for the wristband. Now as for the pick ups themselves, I'm sure they are amazing and that's why I purchased. Alexi Laiho is my all time favorite Guitarist and I got these to upgrade the stock pick ups on my Greeny LTD. I can't wait to put them on!

every guitar I buy in the future will get this pickup installed, hottest passive pickup I've ever played with much room to tailor it to my desired tone and playing style. install took 15 minutes with no prior experience. Will be pairing with an H4 passive pickup in the neck position and will amend the review with my findings

Nice! I have 2 pickups, I only have the switch turned to this one it sounds way better than the stock pickups that came in my Jackson or my Les Paul
