An Essential Ingredient for Wooden Boats
Combined with cotton caulking, this seam compound is the proper and durable way to treat seams in a wooden boat. I think that I've finally purged the last of other people's repairs to my boat that used Davis Slick Seam - useful stuff for emergency repairs but god-awful for actual repairs: you can't really paint it and it turns to melted goo that runs down the hull if it's exposed to hot weather on the stands.Do it right the first time and use this brown (below waterline) seam compound instead. Insist that boatyards doing repairs on your wooden boat use this and not just a half-assed buttering it up with Slick Seam.
