But alas, what a big big disappointment it has been. They have sent a totally different guitar and that too in a pathetic packagaing and damagaed condition. I mean cmon Yamaha, not expected from a renouned brand like yours. Ok I understand maybe the mix up part of a wrong guitar being sent, but packing it up in just cardboard without any foam or padding? I mean even a local seller would do better than that. But atleast now im convinced never to order for such quality items from desertcart. All better wood acoustics use the same technique as it gives better resonant vibration across the top. If you look at the center seam, then proceed out on both sides the grain spacing / growth ring pattern is nearly identical. Solid top is used as opposed to plywood / laminated tops used in lower quality instruments. **Q: Yahama fg 830 is a dreadnought. other fg830's are bundled with accessories but are not dreadnoughts. same price. i'm a beginner. what to buy?** A: FG830 etc. is dreadnought size - no cutaway. FS is concert size (a bit smaller). The FG830C is cutaway. **Q: Is there a difference in sound quality between the Acoustic / Acoustic - Electric versions?** A: They will be very similar in sound - the only difference is that you can plug the acoustic/electric into an amplifier.
