There's no "cheesey" feel to this, its a great backboard and rim. The assembly to put on a pole was very difficult because the instruction pictures were blurry and very small. You will have to go back and forth between the backboard instructions, and the backboard MOUNT instructions. Wasn't fun. I am great at following instructions, but this was VERY difficult. If you skip 1 small step, you'll be taking it all apart again to rebuild. Please note there will be a time you must BEND a piece that looks like it can't be bent to make it fit... it can. I will take 2 people to lift the backboard into place onto the brace which comes seperate. We stood on a picnic table and it was fine, it's not as heavy as you may expect. Aside from the instructions being hell on Earth, great product.. I'll assume most are smarter than me and keep it 5 stars. Review: Worth it! - Very durable and worth the buy! Shatter Proof Backboard Rim Combo - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61EqaskE7LL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Will this work with a huffy sports 8406sr universal mounting kit?** A: The Lifetime universal mount kit is clearly designed to fit the exact location of the two vertical supports on the back of the backboard, and fitting that was tough enough. So I doubt that another 'universal' kit would match the Lifetime design without some tinkering. **Q: Will this work on an angled roof** A: The garage roof...I can send a pic...or I will just make my own bracket I guess **Q: Will this work if i have an existing lifetime pole and frame? all i need to replace is the backboard. will this cone with everything i need?** A: That depends on your existing items. This backboard does not include the mounting kit. If you already have a mounting kit on your existing pole you will want to make sure it is compatible since we have made several kinds. The easiest way to determine compatibility is to reach out to our basketball department and they can help you. You may need to email pictures of your existing system. They can be reached at 800-225-3865. **Q: What's the difference between the 44 inch and the 48 inch? Is it just the size, or are there construction differences?** A: Since I only bought the one I couldn’t answer that question but my guess is that they’re the same. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Few things to know *by B***. on March 21, 2026* First off, this does come with a rim. 100% well made rim, no need to upgrade.. you can see a dunk in the video i uploaded. Easy to put together and great product! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect replacement backboard *by F***5 on December 9, 2025* Excellent replacement backboard and hoop. Replaced an original 44 inch backboard with this 48 inch wide backboard with almost no problems. The only issue that makes you curse though is trying to get the bar to connect with the very thin clip rings on either end. You need to pull the plastic cover over the rings in order to get them to connect. ## Frequently Bought Together - Lifetime Shatter Proof Backboard Rim Combo, 48-Inch, Mounting Bracket Sold Separately - Lifetime 9594 Basketball Backboard Mounting Kit - Lifetime 1044 Quick Adjust Conversion Kit --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/992683-73729-48-in-shatter-proof-backboard-rim-combo](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/992683-73729-48-in-shatter-proof-backboard-rim-combo) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
