The elastic does stretch but not to the point that it no longer works, just enough to annoy you a little. Colors are as rich as in the photo. I had an issue and not only did they help me clear it up they sent somethings that will help if I ever needed it again. I also learned on the stretching if you get one of the smaller black ones and position it where your fingertip would go on the opposite side not only does it help stop the stretching, it give you much more dexterity and solid control of your phone.
