Good resolution but you can't read license plates except maybe a car you stop behind. The night time still shots I made from the videos don't do look that good but the video is better. As another reviewer said the SD card is difficult to remove after the unit is installed. But I have had dash cams for many years now and I almost never remove the cards so that is not a concern. For the price it works well and serves the purpose of proving fault in an accident.
