Top Edge of cassette to centre of hole is 12mm. Top edge plastic ( closest to hole) could be filed down 2 maybe 2.5mm. Bottom edge plastic (furthest from hole) could be filed 4 maybe 5mm. Product has to be fitted by cutting or sanding down based on my experience and on reviews read before I purchased the spring cassette. Mine fits with hole on the bottom not top but I answered using your reference of hole on top. Most measurements by steel rule say plus or minus 0.5mm accuracy.
