Caladium Florida Moonlight features large, heart-shaped leaves with bright white star patterns and pale green veins, growing up to 65 cm tall. Ideal for semi-shade environments, these GMO-free bulbs require moderate watering and can be planted easily after frost. Perfect for adding a bold, elegant touch to both indoor and outdoor spaces during spring and summer.

## Description

Bright white foliage with pale green veins and a thin, green margin. Showy foliage plants with heart-shaped, variegated leaves of bright red, pink, green and white. Pot early indoors, then plant them, pot and all, outdoors in semi-shade after spring frosts. Or, plant them in shady window boxes. Water well and spray leaves often during hot, dry weather. Excellent for a conservatory or warm sun porch during winter. If not in zones 10-11, dig before frost, dry and store the bulbs in a warm, dry frost-free place. neat from summer through fall. PLANTING IS AS EASY AS 1-2-3 1. Dig a hole 3" deep. 2. Set the tuber in the hole so it sits 2" below the soil surface. 3. Replace the soil and water as needed. PLANTING TIPS Wait to plant your caladiums outdoors until after any danger of frost has passed. It's actually best to wait until the nights are warm and the soil temperature has reached 65-70°F. Most caladium varieties can be planted in either sun or shade. If you are planting them in a sunny location, it is important that they still get some shade during the hottest part of the day. Like most plants, caladiums grow best in fertile, well drained soil. You can improve the texture and fertility of your soil by adding compost or top soil at planting time. During the growing season, caladiums will appreciate an occasional dose of liquid fertilizer. To stimulate bushier growth, some varieties of caladiums can be "de-eyed" before planting. Use a paring knife to carefully cut out one or more of the primary sprouts, taking care not to damage the surrounding tissue or any smaller buds. Though at first this will set the plant back by a couple weeks, many other sprouts will soon begin developing, giving you a shorter, yet fuller plant.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: For some reason this order was shipped now (nov) when everything i've seen says they are heading into dormancy, do i put these aside for spring?**
A: I treat my caladiums like annuals here in North Texas.  I planted mine in a pot and will dig up the bulbs and bring them in for the winter.  If you live in a warmer place you may be able to plant them now.  We had a really bad freeze this past February and I probably would have lost them.

**Q: Are these indoor /outdoor**
A: Outdoor plant.  They are annuals and love a shady spot.  They are frost  sensitive depending on your zone.  They are a beautiful plant.

**Q: Please let me know if it is normal for the bulbs to be a bit dry?**
A: No problem. You must put them in water for a couple of hours before planting .

**Q: How do i prune or cut back the dead flower blossoms on a hydrangea plant. and can it tolerate heat in fl?**
A: I do see some in Texas, but I have never tried.
