I take the train and sometimes, carrying multiple bags on public transportation can be a pain in the butt. My requirement was that the bag had to be large enough to carry my laptop, my mini purse, and shoes (from heels to walking shoes) and sometimes snacks or even lunch. I was worried that it might be TOO big but it's actually quiet perfect. It holds it all. I love the black on black colors (even though the description was Black/Dusty Blue, thank goodness I trusted the images posted) and it's very very sturdy. My only complaint is that the laptop (neoprene) sleeve is big enough to hold 15.5" laptops but mine is smaller and thinner so wish it could have been a smaller fit/more snug. The material is light, and while not attractive, it's not ugly either. Laptop sleeve is flimsy, as was noted by other reviewers (definitely not the neoprene that was in previous versions of this bag). My main problem is that the straps fold over and are just not comfortable.
