You can buy an IR filter for $10, but which size are you going to get? This hassle is not worth it. It still works without the IR filter but the colors are not correct. Even without the filter, the image was still WAY better than the stock Akaso lens. Akaso V50X with this lens blows GoPro Hero 8 out of the water, you just have to have a little bit of extra room to place the camera farther back. This picture is not far back enough, and the camera is about 4 feet back. Maybe 7 feet would be best. My only complaint is it can be hard to focus because you can't just screw it all the way in due to the plastic M12 mount. This would work much better in a CS-mount camera with an adapter. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Its ok *by C***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2024* Bit pricy for what it is . The zoom ( magnification ) is about 2x. If you replace your action cam lens with this one it will not be an action cam no more. Basically your cam becomes a dedicated macro cam. It is very hard to focus. You will need external monitor . Fortunately most action cams come with an app for your phone . This lens works very well for macro photo or video of stationary subjects. It does come with the IR filter. Cool thing about this lens is that you can get very close to the subject, so close that the lens is almost touching it and still be able to focus.
