A: The bottom is 2 3/4 inches wide.

A: It appears to be 18 or 16 guage, but i dont own a micrometer to check. Its thick enough to hold a full pan of mud w/o the sides bowing out.

**Q: Are these water tight/leak proof?**
A: Yes, they are water tight.

**Q: What type of stainless steel is this? 304 or 316? Is it comsideyfood grade stainless?**
A: It is not 304 or 316. It's could be the cheaper type of stainless steel 430 which is ferromagnetic which is still corrosion resistance. Marshalltown heli-arc welds seem to be the best I've found
