This unit is cheap and chear full, although I don’t see it doing any real good.Yes is has a hepa filter for very small particles but it has no carbon filter, at least not where it should be!!The idea of the carbon filter is to catch the large particulates or debris from the air and the the hepa filter catches the rest. With this unit the hepa will become blocked and performance lost a lot quicker as there is no preceding carbon filter that you can clean or change.....I would probably say you should spend a little more and get a more effective filter if you have allergies as this one will be less serviceable over time and far less effective.It’s not that quiet either and will be audible in a quiet room or office.I’d make sure you are happy “getting what you pay for” before pinning your allergy symptom free hopes on this unit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seems to Work *by J***. on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 June 2019* I'm not sure how you would measure the effectiveness, but it seems to work - I bought this for my boat to try and cut down on the airborne particulates from my multifuel stove.As another reviewer mentioned, there is no 'active' charcoal filter prior to the HEPA unit - so I'm not sure how quickly this will get clogged.At the end of the day it is a small fan and ioniser with a filter built in - but it runs from USB and uses minimal power, which was important to me as I'm completely off-grid and my home runs on batteries.As for the noise; the whirring doesn't bother me, but it might bother some. One button for on-on for eight hours-off, which I suppose makes it simple.Only rated 4 stars as there is no way to run the unit without the blue LED light running, and whilst the noise is not bothersome, I find that the light is.
