My knee cartilage is torn in two places, (one grade 2 and one grade 2-3) I have an enlarged Plica,a Baker’s cyst on the back of the knee and there is tendinosis on the patella, chrondomalacia, and knee synovitis. Some days my knee throbs, some days it hurts, some days it screams at me. Lucky for me, there's no arthritis, and the meniscus is not torn, but other than that - the only way to make my knee worse, according to my ortho surgeon, would be to stick it in a blender and feed it to a shark.I've had knee surgery, and lots of shots over the last few years but the only thing that really works is ice and ice therapy. The polar iceman is the best tool, by far, for ice therapy. It is the best tool on earth and some days, the polar iceman is the only reason I can walk. It is also probably saving me from having to get knee replacement.I highly recommend it.SO - this the third one that I have bought in the last 3 years. I use mine about 2-3 days each week most weeks. Some weeks I dont use it at all, and some weeks I use it every day, twice a day. This unit will last almost exactly one year, to the day, and I know I will need to buy another one. I dont know why they die each year - or why they seem to last between 360 and 370 days, without fail. I would love to find one that lasts for 3 or 4 years, but until someone makes that version, I will keep buying these. $170 for a year of walking is a tremendous bargain.
