I don't reheat coffee in microwave as the minerals in the water & coffee oils tend to "turn" & cause my coffee to have a bitter finish. My friend saw my NeoCasa coffee press also bought it. She reheats this model ceramic carafe (as described above) w/her coffee in it @home in microwave regularly. She doesn't seem to mind or have any problems. She absolutely loves the thing! First time she ever tried using & bought any type of french coffee press - her 1st time around! She thought it was a bit costly at 1st but after using it at home she gave away her costly Keurig machine!! Never thought I'd see her part with that. It is an EXCELLENT coffee press from my point of view. Hope this helps. To each his/her own. **Q: How many cups?** A: The description says 27oz. How many ounces is the size of your cup? Keep in mind coffee grinds and tea absorb water, so it will never be 27oz, more like 16-24oz. One imperial cup measurement = 8 ounces. **Q: where do I get the mug the is pictured with the set?** A: If you’re referring to the mug with the wooden handle, it is not included in the set, but can be ordered separately on Amazon for 15.99 each and comes in black or white. To each his/her own re: brew/grind methods. I own more than several fine coffee presses & some with glass decanters/pots that I use specifically (only) for loose leaf tea preparation. This NEOCASA ceramic french press IS VERY efficient, easy to use (IMO), delivers a proper brew (smooth/rich). Keep in mind the cleanliness of the kettle you use to prep the water for your coffee, actual water quality & hardness of your drinking water, water temperature of the water you use to brew your coffee. ALL of these factors can affect the quality/taste of your brew. I haven't found a flaw with this Neo Casa French Press. I have brewed 8 different types of coffee & used 3 different grinds - the final outcome is always the same - VERY GOOD. I have an older & much costlier glass french press with a GLASS FILTER from France-- but most would not invest as much $ in making a cup of coffee. This NeoCasa is much easier to clean - much sturdier, less fuss, VERY GOOD - EXCELLENT brewing results/taste. I use it to brew COFFEE (ONLY) daily. Do NOT attempt to use it to prepare fine grind Turkish/Greek coffee - that is NOT meant for this french press. NO Regrets - sensibly & smartly designed & packaged.
