### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very Nice Balls for Heavy-Duty Applications

I was not only setting up a new hitch for a heavy utility trailer, but also replacing an old, worn ball on my weight-distributing setup for my travel trailer so I ordered two of these. They're very nicely made and finished. The only thing that might make the installation challenging for some folks is that the nut is 1-7/8" across the flats, and has to be torqued to 450 ft-lbs! :-o Fortunately I have a 40" long 3/4 breaker bar, a big 1-7/8" socket, and a huge Proto torque wrench that goes to 600 ft-lbs. One trick I like to use is to put the ball mount in the receiver sideways, so that you can put your weight into tightening the nut instead of trying to apply force horizontally. I used a 1-7/8" combination wrench to keep the ball from spinning as the nut was tightened, and supported the wrench with a floor jack so I didn't have to have a helper. (see pics) These are really nice balls, especially for what Amazon sells them for. I am always pleased with Curt products, and use them whenever they're available.
