Review: Excellent for treatment of blepharitis, comfortable and easy to use - I have meibomian gland blepharitis, and my ophthalmologists' instructions were to use warm moist compresses for five minutes twice a day, followed by gently cleaning the closed eyelids with a little baby shampoo or eyelid scrubbing pads. I looked it up, and the minimum temperature to make the oil in the glands more fluid is 45 deg. C. This goes up to 50 deg. C, so it's perfect. I tested the temperature with a laser temperature sensor, but it turns out it gets cooler as soon as you lift it away from your face, so I next got a kitchen thermometer and carefully put it between my face and the mask (being careful to keep the point away from my eye). With the mask set to 50 deg C, I measured at temperature of 47.5 deg C, with some variability depending on whether there was an air gap near the thermometer probe. So, this is warm enough to get the job done. It has to be wet down to get to that temperature. I use ten pumps from the enclosed spray bottle, five for the left side, five for the right side. It takes about a minute to get up to temperature, so I usually set my phone timer to six minutes when I use this. The timer does work, so if I'm not in a hurry, I just set it to ten minutes and take it off when it starts to cool down. I got this for travel, because the microwaveable one I had been using wasn't convenient (not every hotel room has a microwave). Well, I like this so much, I use it at home now, too. I use it right before bedtime, and again first thing in the morning. The spray bottle is right on my nightstand, and the heating pad just stays plugged in by my bed. I find this comfortable and soothing, and like the consistent temperature and ease of use.
Review: Good quality and great price for a relaxing, comfortable eye mask - My daughter’s optometrist recommended a heated eye mask for her itchy, red, tired eyes. When hers came I was intrigued so I ordered this one, which was less expensive than hers. I like it. It’s comfortable and is very relaxing to use before going to sleep. I use it with a rechargeable battery bank I already had, and only need to recharge the battery bank every few days, which to me means the mask is economical in use of power, making it a natural for traveling. One tip: the nearly incomprehensible manual it came with suggests you can use it with the USB port on a computer. That’ll never be satisfactory because a computer’s USB port only supplies about half the amperage the mask needs in order to get up to your selected temperature. The mask wants at least an amp, while a computer USB port is usually able to supply a half amp. That may be why at least one reviewer said it doesn’t get hot enough. It’s plenty warm for me with my 2 amp battery bank. See also the review that says you can put a cotton ball inside the mask to make it press on the eyes more. I haven’t done that; just pushing the mask in toward my eyes does it for me, but if your eyes are more recessed you might try the cotton ball trick. The mask zips open for easy removal of the heating element, so both cleaning of the mask body and installing cotton balls are easy peasy. I’m glad I ordered this item and hope it lasts a long time.

It’s comfortable and is very relaxing to use before going to sleep. I love it, ordered this to help with dry eye and get rid of a chalzion that's plagued my eyelid for the past 3 weeks. Plugs in any usb, heats up quickly, has multiple heat/timer settings, I went straight to max and it's the perfect temp, very relaxing, has adjustable strap and pretty comfortable. My only complaint is it doesnt lie well on the inner corner of eye, isnt designed to lie down well around the bridge of the nose, otherwise perfect and hopefully durable bc I will be using it a lot!
