Trusted by artists and educators for decades, this affordable bundle delivers professional-grade absorbency and durability, making it ideal for students and intermediate artists aiming to refine their craft. ## Description We all love Canson XL Series Watercolor Paper! Trusted for decades by artists, students, hobbyists, and art teachers. Each heavyweight sheet is crafted with care to obtain that perfect paper texture and provide a sturdy foundation for multiple washes and layers without warping or buckling. For those of you nerdy enough to know better, our paper is 140lb/300gsm (which means the pre-cut “ream” of full-size sheets weighs 140 pounds and a single sheet of one square meter weighs 300 grams). All of this just means Canson XL watercolor paper has impressive absorbency and strength. So, go at it with bright colors, gradients, and detailed strokes, and even mix things up with gouache or acrylic paint for a mixed media effect. The Canson XL Series was created with students and teachers in mind – affordable, high-sheet count options with an intermediate-level performance sufficient for technical practice and showcases. Once artists are confident enough in their skillset, we recommend transitioning over to the Canson Artist Series family of paper for a museum-quality look and feel. I started out with this paper but it made me so frustrated I almost gave up entirely and when I put my mind to something, I'm like a dog with a bone. I use this to strictly for brushstroke drills, and it's so bleep bleep finicky it helped me learn water control. But I think you'll be a LOT happier if you purchase an Arteza watercolor journal, even though the weight is less than 140lb. For anything using wet/wet technique, I go with nothing short of 100% cotton in any brand and cut the paper into quarters to save money. **Q: What is the content of the paper? It isn't stated in the description, but I would like to know if it's 100% cotton or not.** A: This is not 100% cotton. It's pretty good as far as cellulose paper goes though! Just don't expect it to hold up like Arches or other 100% cotton papers if you're completely soaking it or doing lots of scrubbing. **Q: Would this paper be good to use to print an image on, then colorize the printed image with watercolor pencils and water applied with brushes?** A: Well, one thing is that you might have to cut it down to make a standard size width. It’s 9” across and your printer is probably set up to use normal 8.5 x 11 paper. So there’s that. I believe I tried it some time back and it didn’t work in my HP multi-function printer; however, I have another idea for you. This is 140 lb paper. If you are looking for heavier paper than normal, abs not specifically watercolor paper- here’s a thought. I have used the Nenah 8.5 x11, 110 lb paper and that runs fine through my printer. I use that to print free images I’ve found online and I do coloring that way. I can color with watercolor pencils abs then go over it with my water/aqua brushes. They only let a teeny bit of water out at a time and that paper holds up. It also holds up great with markers and no bleed-thru. I have used the Crayola fine tip markers, Tombow, the Bic markers that are similar to sharpies and those come in ulta fine and fine tip, as well, and others. I have on order some 120 lb paper to try and 1) see if it will work for water coloring printed images & 2) go through my printer. I haven’t used the Neenah 110 lb for my actual watercolor paints, because I don’t think it would hold up. I’m not a real artist, I just do it for fun, and make cards, for stress relief, etc. **Q: can you just put it on the easel? Or you need to put a piece of paper on the drawing board?** A: There are 30 sheets attached at the top of this pad. You can put the whole pad on an easel or you can take one sheet and use it on a drawing board. I hope that helps! ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good *by A***R on 14 November 2019* Good ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good paper *by R***M on 4 November 2024* Best book for watercolour and painting.Would recommend.Thick paper cold pressed ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Lovely paper! *by A***H on 19 April 2015* I was worried when I saw the negative reviews after purchasing as I had been recommended this paper through an art class I'm taking, so as soon as it arrived I did a test paint and it is lovely to work on. The price was really reasonable considering it's 30 sheets and I usually pay the same for only 12. I prefer this paper to the more expensive one too. ## Frequently Bought Together - Canson XL Series Watercolor Pad, Heavyweight White Paper, Foldover Binding, 30 Sheets, 9x12 inch - Winsor & Newton Cotman Watercolor Paint Set, Sketchers' Pocket Set, 12 Half Pan w/ Brush - FENORKEY Artist Watercolor Paint Brushes, Round Pointed Tip Paint Brushes Set, 12pcs Different Sizes Detail Paint Brush for Watercolor, Acrylics, Ink, Gouache, Oil, Tempera (Brown) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/90197115-canson-6-pack-bundle-xl-series-watercolor-textured-paper-pad](https://www.desertcart.com.ar/products/90197115-canson-6-pack-bundle-xl-series-watercolor-textured-paper-pad) --- *Product available on Desertcart Argentina* *Store origin: AR* *Last updated: 2026-10-30*
