If you are a practitioner and need a brush up, then this is a good book and taught me well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid modern contracts overview *by B***S on May 23, 2010* This is a helpful hornbook, although I favor the more intricate (and therefore more accurate) single-volume treatise by Williston. Williston is harder to read but will help you deal with the terminology you'll find in most of the cases you will be studying in law school and reading law. Williston is the IBMPC to Farnsworth's Apple Mac; Moore's Manual versus Wright's Federal Practice; Shakespeare versus Grisham. His logic and terminology is timeless and precise. Farnsworth is easy to read, covers the bases, deals with more modern problems, and is very popular. Let me put it this way. If you want to read Hadley v. Baxendale to find out what it says, read Williston. If you want to find out what the bar review courses say about it, read Farnsworth. This really isn't meant as a knock on Farnsworth. Precision can be a pain. But Williston, like Louis Loss, was one of the greatest writers in the history of American jurisprudence, is still quoted by the Supremes, and he probably always will be. Farnsworth gives it to you in a slicker, smoother, slightly less analytical manner. Williston gives you the exact topography.
