The calcium hardness of my water seams to be the same weather I use it or not. Does a great job removing metals. I use it to fill and top off my spa. There water in southern California is extremely hard and if to have a black truck like I do it can make washing a vehicle very difficult. This gave me instant results. It attaches to the edge of the house perfectly and I was able to put a nozzle on it without any leaks. There's a slight drop in water pressure but it's perfect for my needs.
